Sicily #1, Catania #1, Bar #1: I originally found this place on Google Maps due to the volume of high ratings. However, we stayed nearby and this place was always packed, so I think we would have found it on our own :) This was the first bar and first stop of our Sicily trip. Located on a very cool, lively street this is an awesome bar. If you like vermut, you'll be very happy as they have a huge variety and prices are great here. If vermut isn't your thing, they also have plenty of wine and beer, too! We tried to come back another night, but it was full. We made a reservation for another night, but we were too late (oops!). As you can see, this place is very popular. Highly recommend and will be back the next time I step foot in Catania! Other bars we liked in Catania: Cascia (aperitivos near the fish market), Cru (wine bar where you can play vinyl/records from the adjoining record store), Città Vecchia (just a few mins from here; cocktails, beers, whatever you want).

My absolute favorite place in Catania. Come for the Vermouth, stay for the natural wine and the food. The place is constantly packed as far as I’ve witnessed it. Great atmosphere, people come in pairs, in bigger groups, everybody knows everybody. The entire staff is amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. Antonio, their wine director, helped make our 2 evenings in Catania magical (yes, we went back on our second and last night). His love for wine is contagious and he shared with us all of his passion and knowledge! If you have to go to ONE place in Catania, this is the one. If I could give it 50 ⭐️ I would. The food is to die for, they have great cocktails too. We will most definitely be back in Catania, just so we can spend another wonderful evening at Vermut, our new favorite spot in the world. This is not a place for everyone. You can order lots of various food and drinks. It was not our taste at all, but I don't want to lower ratings too much. Lots of people, and chaos all over the place, waiters running, arguing with people about tables (lots of reservations - but no signs) but... it has its own atmosphere, that you enjoy while visiting. Also it has doors on the wall :) Dla Polaków - miejsce podobne do Pijalni Wódki i Piwa ;) jak na włoskie warunki całkiem przystępne ceny.

We were blessed to be staying about 200m from this great place during our Catania holiday, and started or ended the day there multiple times. It’s a rare combination of cheap, delicious, and friendly and fast service. There’s a great selection of alcoholic drinks (especially if you go with vermouth), but the food is also amazing - you can get as much or as little as you want with a tapas-style small plate system, and something to suit everyone’s tastes/hunger levels.

Great atmosphere, casual alternative crowd. We had to wait almost one hour for a table for two on a Sunday (almost 9pm), and I was with an Italian local friend. Nonetheless, you can get a drink and wait - the vibe is great and the food was high fresh quality. We had the classic charcutería/cheese mix (3.5 eur/100g). Tostadas with strachiatella and sun-dried tomatoes (amazing!), and great olives mix. The rosso Sicilian wine (full-bodied) was also great!

We got this place recommended by a friend original from Catania and it didn’t disappoint! The ambience was very authentic and the food was delicious! We also found the waiter extremely friendly and the service overall very quick (in low season at least). We would love to come here again and taste more of the authentic dishes. One highlight from our meal was the sausage with pistachio and cabbage, but everything was just great.
