Fud Bottega sicula — Restaurant in Catania

Three of us went there for lunch, the manager was quite nice and friendly. 3 staff members were eating lunch in the customer area. I had to specifically ask one of the staff to take our order as instead of catering for the customers they were having a verbal diarrhoea about their personal life between each other. Our burgers arrived, a whole entire package of plastic wrap was cooked inside the burger meat, the other two burgers were extremely salty and actually questioned the type of meat they were serving us as neither of the 3 was beef. I took the plate of plastic trash to the manager and told her what happened. She apologies then they brought out a new burger, I asked to make sure this one was plastic free. The server looked at me with a smug face and said yes it was but no apologies. We didn’t finish any of the dishes, asked for the bill but were very surprised to see we were charged for everything. So I asked for the manager again to take off the burger that was plastic stuffed. She said of course, paid for the rest and left. Staff was rude especially the guy with the smug face who also likes to hold up other staff members with his chat...

We visited to try a nice sandwich, which it didn't disappoint, but the sides were awful.

The bad things about it: We tried potato wedges which were really bad, I am not sure if it was old oil and bad sort of potatoes but they were really not tasty and even some sauces couldn't make them better (the sauces on the other hand were also some cheap mayo ketchup and bbq sauce). We had panella which was really oily, greasy with old oil aftertaste. The craft beer had a cheap taste but it was really expensive compared to that- 6,50 for a medium size glass.

The good things: The horse meat sandwich - the bun was tasty and fresh, the combination of vegetables and the meatballs was really nice, there was quality in the taste there. The sandwich itself is really hard to bite in or cut from and it is served on a board, so it gets really messy. The staff were friendly and they were really nice to give some recommendations on the menu.

For me it would be definitely a skip for next time. It is overrated and it is more on the side of a fast food, the prices are...

The first impression when you enter is that it's a nice business but..when we went to seat the waiter told us that we can't seat on the specific table cause it was for four person and we were two even when the hole business was completely empty and it was still empty when we left too!we asked some details about the Italian burger and after the waiter explained he turn his back and start talking on his own in front of us ( obviously even if we can't understand Italian he was talking about us). We ordered two burgers and one fries which fries never came! Then the waiter started talking about us with some other employ who came out and looked straight at us and then left ( another signe that he kept talking about us). The burgers where served by another waiter cause obviously the other one didn't liked us. And if you believe that the burgers could save the day that didnt happened either. Awful burger awful treatment by the stuff and when we asked the manager about all that he was just saying different kind of excuses. Not recommended for...
