AL CORALLO RISTORANTE PIZZERIA — Restaurant in Cefalù

Not recommending Al Corallo in Cefalù as it was one of the biggest disappointments of our trip. At 6 PM, with the terrace completely empty, we asked for a table by the edge of the balcony. The waiter refused, claiming it was reserved – a few minutes later a “reservation” sign for 8 PM appeared. Strangely, around 7 PM the same table was given to walk-ins from the street.

The dishes arrived cold, not fresh, and in very small portions, absolutely not worth the price. Service was unfriendly and gave the impression that we were an inconvenience. The décor was bare and uninviting – lacking the charm you would expect in such a location.

The only redeeming point were the drinks, which were decent.

Overall, we do not recommend this place at all. Both the food and the service were a disappointment, and there are far better...

It pains me to give this place 4 stars, but the service needs to step up its game. This is an unassuming spot from the front, but don’t be fooled as there is a lovely waterfront deck out back. The pizza I had was one of the best of my life. It was the sauce of the gods on this pizza I kid you not. Wood fired, and out of this world. This should earn a 5 star review every time. Problems. The pizza came out before the drinks. OMG how could this ever happen??? Also everyone who worked there seemed to hate their life. The person who seated us, the waiter and the man who collected our money were all lifeless and totally crapped out. That’s a shame because the food was fantastic. A good manager could really turn this place into...

I had the seafood tagiatelle. Sadly did not take any photos but it was basically a frozen seafood mix with some dried up mussles sprinkled with dried parsley. They have put in some cherry tomatoes but they were not at all part of the sauce (just some warm tomatoes to bite into). Speaking of the sauce, it was tasteless and watery. The service is okay but you have to ask for everything like Parmesan or spoon extra. And we felt like we are not wanted there at all. We made a reservation in advance but when we arrived we basically were treated as walk-ins and had to find a table (although we specifically wished for a directly next-to-the-sea table).
