I stayed at Hotel Asnigo for two nights whilst I was attending a wedding that was taking place at Lake Como. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is on the smaller more intimate side, with great views of Lake Como from both the restaurant as well as the pool area. The pool area is on the smaller and more intimate side, so do not expect a resort-style experience. What stood out to me most were the staff — they were nothing short of excellent. The level of assistance and warm service I experienced was top-notch. From reception, to housekeeping, to food & beverage — it was clear that all the staff were genuinely happy and willing to help and be there for the guests. I had a standard room with lake view which was on the cozier side. It is perhaps a little outdated in terms of technology. But that was totally ok. It was simple, but functional and very clean. The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the Cernobbio center and a 20-minute walk back up the hill. From Cernobbio, water taxis leave every 30 minutes towards other areas of Lake Como, including Como center itself. They are cheap, easy, and fun to take. Note: As of the time of this review, FFP2 masks are still mandatory on the water taxis. To conclude, I had a great stay here and whilst I would not stay at the Hotel for a relaxation holiday due to the location on the hill and limited pool, bar, entertainment offers, it is great for a short, active stay when visiting Lake Como.

What I liked: The views are incredible. I spent hours just staring at the beautiful landscape around the hotel. The restaurant has amazing views, too, and the food there is really lovely. We ate there every night and tried the whole primi menu. The staff at the restaurant always made us feel welcome. The breakfast is very good. The location of the hotel is its main USP - Cernobbio is stunning but the hotel is located on a very calm part of the city, on the hills. Might not be a great idea to stay here if you don't have a car and are not okay with climbing hills but if you're fine with that, then this is perfect. Our room was the best one in the entire hotel - we had 2 balconies and 3 big windows with basically 180 degree views. We'll definitely return and try to book this room again! What I didn't like: The acoustics are a bit weird and the fact that the bedroom doors are too light doesn't help - everyone would bang their doors every time they left their room. The quality of the toiletries and slippers was not great and it would be great to have liquid soap available. The bath door was not fitted properly so wouldn't close all the way and we noticed some of the sealant on the windows hadn't been applied correctly either. The door to the balcony wouldn't close very well but that wasn't an issue since it was quite warm outside anyway. It would have been nice to have been informed that the pool was closed upon check-in.

I truly enjoyed the location, the view, the kindness of the staff and the well curated public spaces. I would come back. I liked a bit less the room which was a bit outdated and small. I do not recommend individual rooms to claustrophobic people because you can barely move around. I also did not like the “confusion” at the breakfast where - because of Covid - you must queue and be served standing to enjoy your breakfast. The number of staff was not adequate for such hotel: one person distributing the food and one serving coffee and cleaning tables. The organisation is to be improved. The parking costs 10 euros for one night. I am not sure if it’s watched because the entrance doors were open both at night and during the day. If you want to save money, there is a public parking not too far from the hotel.

Hotel Asnigo is a verry nice Hotel at a beautiful location, with a sparkling view of Lake Como. The staff speak good english. We enjoyed it very much. The food is of good quality but quite pricey. Tip is the chicken, very tasty. It is also nice to sail with the ferry to Como city, it costs very little. If you walk the road down from the hotel entrance you will have a somewhat hidden, off road ,rough, rugged footpath down, after about 50 meters. if you follow it down you will automatically reach the ferry. Just keep walking down. The ferry building is a beautiful cast-iron building. Taking this path back is a challenge, but with 68 years of age and packed with bottles of wine I made it, so it is doable. The height difference is around 200 meters. Kees and Edith van Breukelen

The views from this hotel are probably the best I’ve ever experienced! The Junior Suite was spacious and so charming with two levels and a spiral staircase leading up. The only thing I wish is that there was a larger window in front of the bed, as the best vantage point was downstairs in the sitting area. Regardless, the room was beautiful and so comfortable. We felt so special being there. Service was excellent, parking was convenient, and breakfast was delicious. The view from the elevator was so unique and stunning - it is post card worthy. I would recommend booking this hotel if you have a car. Without a car, you’re a decent ways away from a lot of sites.

Amazing location with a gorgeous view. I got the balcony room, which overlooks Lake Como. It was so beautiful, especially with the sunset and sunrise colors. The breakfast was included, and there are many food options to select from. They also have dinner options. From the hotel down to the city is only 15 minutes on foot. The hotel has a parking next door and it's 15 euros a night. Reception was great and very helpful. High-quality hotel that's highly recommended 👌🏼
