This has to be one of the best gelato I have ever had. The friendliest staff, a beautiful shop with an interesting mismatch of traditional and modern furniture. The flavors cover a wide array of traditional and more experimental options, based on local and seasonal ingredients, all natural and clearly stated. Together with cups and cones, Sicilian brioches and Belgian waffles can be purchased to be stuffed with gelato. Het meest geweldige ijs dat ik ooit heb gegeten. De passie van de allervriendelijkste Belgische eigenaar (getrouwd met een italiaanse) spat er er aan alle kanten vanaf. Hij vertelde over zijn producten met enorme trots en toewijding. In het Italiaans of Nederlands, dat laatste was even fijn voor ons. Achter de winkel hebben ze een ijslaboratorium, wat ze bezig zijn met hoe ze een smaak kunnen extraheren. Ze maken dus letterlijk hun eigen smaak. Zo maken ze bijvoorbeeld van verse munt een extract dat voor de muntsmaak in bijvoorbeeld after eight ijs zorgt. Ze kopen alleen de allerbeste italiaanse room en melk.

De smaak van het ijs is onovertroffen en awardwinning. Wij proefden after eight, stracciatella, zoute karamel en hazelnoot als dolci na een diner. Weer zaten vol maar hadden alle smaken willen proeven! Toen we met tegenzin vertrokken zei ik tegen mijn man: nu ben ik voor altijd verpest, want behalve in Ravenna en Cervia kan ik nooit meer zul lekker ijs eten. De Italiaanse ijssalons in Nederland kunnen daar noooooit aan tippen!
