A Slice of Culinary Heaven at Mastro Titta, Civitavecchia Nestled conveniently on the central circle just moments away from the bustling cruise terminal, Mastro Titta stands as a beacon of culinary excellence in Civitavecchia. This local and tourist legend boasts a rotating wood-fired oven, igniting the senses with its daily pizza assortment that promises to tantalize even the most discerning palate. From the classic Margherita to the savory seafood and the vibrant mixed veggies, each slice tells a story of fresh ingredients meticulously selected to perfection. However, it's not just the toppings that steal the show; it's the crust that elevates each bite to an unparalleled gastronomic experience, leaving patrons craving for more. The ambiance at Mastro Titta is as inviting as the aroma of freshly baked pizza. Whether you choose to dine inside, basking in the cozy atmosphere, or opt for al fresco seating to soak in the vibrant street life, every corner exudes warmth and hospitality. For those seeking a panoramic view, a fabulous little staircase leads up to the second floor or the outside balcony, offering sweeping vistas of the port or downtown, adding a touch of scenic splendor to every meal. No Italian feast is complete without the perfect libation, and Mastro Titta does not disappoint. With an array of beer and wine selections, there's something to complement every flavor profile, enhancing the culinary journey with each sip. But perhaps the true star of Mastro Titta is the pizza chef himself, whose friendly demeanor and boundless creativity infuse every pie with passion and flair. Whether it's a traditional recipe or a daring culinary experiment, each creation is crafted with love, ensuring that every visit is a memorable one. In conclusion, Mastro Titta is more than just a pizzeria; it's a culinary destination where tradition meets innovation, and every bite tells a story of craftsmanship and dedication. So, whether you're a local craving a taste of home or a tourist seeking an authentic Italian experience, Mastro Titta invites you to savor the magic of pizza-making at its finest. Buon appetito!

Dinner with my friend in the best place in town for Pizza?? It WAS! The decor is just hours of pictures waiting to happen. The staff are attentive, bi-lingual and knowledgeable about the menu and wine lists. The pizza options are great, you can split the types and share on the cool table spinning thing. Great value and afterwards you can walk it off with a walk along the sea... A MUST!!

The house of de Boia a small pizza place for lunch and dinner, specially in dinner is placental stay in the small terrace and taste the pizza made with natural vegetables and local products, mmmm They offered the pizza and nutella with the special drink. The staff is very kindly and helpful. Relax and enjoy your wonderful lunch time in a different place. The name of the restaurant referred to his execution as justices and the condemned as patients. His first execution was on March 22, 1796. Up until 1810, the method of execution was beheading by axe, hanging or mallet. The French introduced the use of the guillotine which was continued after the Papal States regained their sovereignty (first beheading by guillotine under papal reign: 1816) until the last executions. He carried out a total of 516 executions, with a mean of 7 per year.

Bugatti is described as being short and portly, and always well dressed. He frequented the church Santa Maria in Traspontina. He was married but had no children. When not carrying out his official duties, Bugatti and his wife sold painted umbrellas and other souvenirs to tourists.

He could not leave the Trastevere neighborhood unless on official business. Officially this was for his own protection, in case relatives of those he had executed decided to take revenge against him. Unofficially it was probably due to superstition regarding his part-time job. On his crossing the bridge, the residents of Rome were alerted that an execution was about to take place and people would gather to witness the popular event.

One of his executions, carried out on 8 March 1845, was described by Charles Dickens in his work Pictures from Italy (1846).

His blood-stained clothes, axes and guillotines are on display at the Museum of Criminology at Via del Gonfalone. The guillotine is of a very peculiar build, with straight blade and V-shaped neckpiece.

is the place of Giovanni Battista Bugatti was the official executioner for the Papal States from 1796 to 1864. He was the longest-serving executioner in the States and was nicknamed Mastro Titta, a Roman corruption of maestro di giustizia, or master of justice. At the age of 85, he was retired by Pope Pius IX with a monthly pension...

This place is legit - popular with locals and tourists alike. Always busy with lots of take-out service since they have limited seating area.

I had a variety of pizza to go and they all did not disappoint. This is the pizza you come to Italy for - freshly baked with simple, fresh ingredients.

Note that like most pizzerias in Italy, they weigh your pizza to figure out how much to charge you since you usually order rectangular slices which can come in all sizes. I had 4 varieties of pizza - about 2-3 slices each and the total came to 10 EUROs. What a deal and it was enough for 2 persons.

This is the hidden gem of Civitavecchia that you should seek out. If you're getting on or off a cruise ship, it's just next to the cruise ship shuttle pick-up/drop-off area. Don't miss this slice of...
