Gambero Rosso delivered - big time - for our Christmas Eve dinner party. The fish was fresh and tasty, all dishes prepared very well. The menu is a bit traditional, but that should not be a negative - traditional means proven, proven means good! The menu is a bit weak on the desserts, if we really want to be picky about it. Service is good and friendly. Perhaps the restaurant could use the hand of a modern designer to improve the atmosphere (which is a bit flat right now). Nevertheless, I invite you to dine at Gambero Rosso and try the frittura, the sauted mussels, any pasta or risotto (both cooked to perfection), as well as the grilled fish. You...

The grilled calamari was perfectly cooked. Tender, yet some chewiness. Seasoned just salty enough. Olive oil did not take away the freshness of the squid. My only complaint was 2 was not enough when they were this good. I also have grilled veggies that are prepared exquisitely. The veggies had a grilled aroma, and cut to similar sizes and mixed with herbs and olive oil. My wife and friend had pastas of clams sauce and Bolognese sauce. They both raved about their sauce and the al dente noodles. The wines were excellent and the bread was crusty and soft. Excellent meal!

We booked this restaurant for a Christmas dinner for many people. The staff was very welcoming and nice, and had set the tables for Christmas, which was a lovely touch.

Then the food came, and it was absolutely excellent. The pastas were cooked to perfection, the seafood was as fresh as it could be. The drinks list was also very well curated. Somehow I had never been here before, but I was very glad I changed that.

I would recommend this restaurant certainly to anyone in Civitavecchia, but this place merits consideration even if you are in Rome, the hour train ride here will be very,...
