La Cave de Cogne Osteria & Bottiglieria — Restaurant in Cogne

We booked one day in advance for dinner, when we came they just directed us to a small room that was 2 m x 2 m, and we were excluded from the main room for customers, there was no music etc and just one light above the table, if you can think of an interrogation room, yes could be said to be the same.

We asked to move to the main room like other customers but they said they couldn't because it was fully booked. So why did you accept our booking?

We paid the same price and ate with our family and this was the most disappointing experience I've ever had when eating at a restaurant, I couldn't spend there more than 30-40 minutes. The Staff also took cheese from the table without asking us permission, leaving us shaking our heads.

This is the first time we treated like this in a restaurant, and hopefully the last one for us.

Eh...come si può descrivere l'eccellenza e la perfezione? Non so se ne sono capace, ci provo...ma se le mie parole destassero dei dubbi, perdonatele, o avete frainteso oppure ho scritto male io. Questo è un posto ECCELLENTE. Mangiare qui è una favola, ma non solo per i piatti e per il gusto che essi sprigionano... per la cortesia, per il locale, per il fatto che con la mia famiglia mi sia sentito come a casa se non meglio, ben voluto, ben consigliato, ben servito, non avrei potuto immaginare di più. Dunque, soggiorno all'Hotel S. Orso con la mia famiglia per 4 giorni (tra l'altro anche qui, posto che vi consiglio, bello, pulito, servito, completo, con una Spa stupenda, camere favolose, vista mozzafiato...) e decido di non perder tempo e prenotare per tutte e tre le sere la cena da loro. Prenotare è d'obbligo, sono talmente buoni che un tavolo libero non si trova, ed è giusto così visto quello che offrono. Per tre sere proviamo piatti squisiti, vino sempre diverso ogni sera, e devo dire GRAN VINO, dolci magnifici. La polenta è qualcosa di delizioso, fatevi consigliare sempre il vino da abbinare perché sono dei veri professionisti e sanno consigliarvi in maniera eccellente, sono pronti ed esperti. L'attesa per vedere i piatti in tavola è assolutamente ragionevole, arrivano tutti insieme, nonostante abbiamo preso sempre 4 portate diverse, e dolci di grande varietà e qualità. Sanno fare egregiamente il loro lavoro, sia in cucina, sia ai tavoli. Menzione speciale se mi permettete per Gabriele, grandissimo padrone di casa, gentile, competente, ha saputo intrattenere l'attesa, consigliare il vino, e sempre con la battuta pronta. Ecco, se torno a Cogne, mi avrete, ci avrete, di nuovo li. L'idea di casa che ho, di accoglienza e famiglia, me l'avete fatta sentire tutta. La bontà dei piatti, me l'avete fatta sentire tutta. L'accoglienza e l'ospitalità, me l'avete fatta sentire tutta. Queste tre sere sono state un'esperienza indimenticabile, grazie ai piatti, ma anche grazie a voi. Ci rivedremo, non so se nel frattempo riuscirete a migliorare la perfezione che avete raggiunto, provateci, ma non saprei proprio dire cosa vi manca. A presto...

We had a week in Cogne which comprised eating out on 14 occasions ( lunch and dinner ). We visited Le Cave de Cogne on 5 evenings because we really liked the food , the ambiance and the service . On one occasion the fish was slightly too rare and the bill was adjusted . We were given free aperitifs , the staff remembered our names and made extra effort because we were a family . They even accommodated us when they were fully booked . This was our last evening and as a parting gift we were given a bottle of wine. We want to extend our special gratitude to Gabrielle and his colleagues Brigitte and Davide . Wonderful people and a wonderful place . Thank you and we hope to return to Cogne next year....
