Fissata come tappa del viaggio Cogne durante la trasmissione condotta da Ruggiati, non ci abbiamo pensato due volte a prenotare in questo locale. Da parte nostra, è stato il primo pasto valdostano che ci ha fatto scoprire i sapori della fonduta e del caffè dell'amicizia. Gli addetti al servizio in sala sono stati gentilissimi, soprattutto la signora ci ha fatto sentire a casa tanto era elevato il livello di ospitalità. Di seguito ciò che abbiamo mangiato: a. Come antipasto abbiamo scelto un secondo piatto ovvero la fonduta accompagnata da patate, mocetta, polenta taragna e crostini di pane. In cucina sono stati così gentili che hanno diviso la porzione per due. b. Sia io che il mio ragazzo abbiamo scelto due piatti previsti dal menù del giorno. Lui ha optato per tagliolini integrali fatti a mano con finferli e tartufo. c. Io la costata di manzo Valdostana. Abbiamo concluso con "il caffè dell'amicizia" cioè caffè, grappa, rum, cannella e arancia. Ho sentito dire dalla signora che ogni famiglia ha la sua ricetta tipica personalizzata e questa versione secondo me non è paragonabile alle altre: giusto equilibrio tra gli alcolici e la cannella. Inizialmente si avverte il sapore della grappa e successivamente il resto. Inoltre, ho apprezzato che vi fossero due tipologie di pane, quello comune e quello integrale con le noci! Molto consigliato!

As soon as you enter this restaurant you will feel at home. Great hospitality and delicious food, prepared with great care. They are well organised, don't make you wait long and if you not familiar with local cuisine they will help you with that as well. We will be back!

Abbiamo dormito una notte presso Lou RESSIGNON a Cogne con il nostro cagnolino. Ci siamo trovati benissimo. Elisabetta all’accoglienza delle camere gentilissima. Camere pulitissime e confortevoli. La colazione viene fatta in camera propria fornita di tutto, al mattino vengono portate delle fette di torta, pane e frutta. Abbiamo cenato vicino al camino, atmosfera bellissima. Monica e un ragazzo gentilissimi al servizio al tavolo. Il cibo di livello. Oltre al tagliere di salumi e formaggi della zona molto particolari abbiamo mangiato gli gnocchi con barbabietola e formaggio fonduta Bleu d’Aosta e le crespelle con fonduta. Tutto pazzesco! Ci torneremo sicuramente. Ci siamo sentiti a casa

As soon as you enter this restaurant you will feel at home. Great hospitality and delicious food, prepared with great care. They are well organised, don't make you wait long and if you not familiar with local cuisine they will help you with that as well. We will be back!

Chez Arthur consists of guest rooms on top of the renowned restaurant Lou Ressignon, run by the 2 children of the original founder, Elisabetta and Davide. While Davide is the chef, Elisabetta runs the front of house of the restaurant plus the B&B. 5 new rooms from which you can go down to the restaurant without having to go outside. During daytime, you can enter via a separate entrance. The rooms are spacious, we stayed in the ''green room'' with an espresso (pod) machine and breakfast table in the room. Every day the fridge is refilled and bread is awaiting early in the morning in the hall so you can go out on your hiking trip whenever you want. We had a view right out on the mountains through the window + a small balcony. From the room we could even hear the river running, the water from the tap is actual alpine water! The room had plenty of cupboards to store stuff and a big bed. What we really loved though, was the Grohe taps in the bathroom. Just like home! The value of a good bathroom cannot be stressed too little I find. It's that nice luxurious feeling when travelling and in fact, we felt the Lou Ressignon Chez Arthur was typical of the kind where the re is hardly any distinction between a hotel and a B&B. There's parking in front of the building which was also perfect. After a 7-hour hike through the Gran Paradiso park (you can virtually start from Cogne, but we took the car over to Cretaz) it is delight to have a proper shower and then just walk down to the restaurant. One evening the restaurant was closed, then Elisabetta booked us a table at another restaurant and borrowed us a flashlight! If we go back, we will definitely...
