Very nice for lunch/dinner with friends, informal atmosphere and friendly staff. In regards to food, they're a nice selection of starters (including arrostincini, i.e. mutton skewers). They also offer a bunch of mains but the most popular part of their menu mist be the 'cafoncini', which is a type of deep fried pizza with a variety of delicious toppings. Interestingly they also have a beer-based cocktail menu. I tried their margaritas with a neer twist and really enjoyed it. They offer some veggie options but only very few vegan options. Unfortunately this is not a good place for celiac folks / yeast intolerance. The cafoncini are in the €8-10 range and cocktails are €9 so expect to spend around €22 if you don't order any extras. Ero di passaggio a Como e, cercando una pizzeria, mi sono imbattuto nel Birrivico. L'insegna e la ricerca su Google mi avevano sviato, facendomi pensare a una classica pizzeria-ristorante. Invece, ho scoperto un locale che si presenta più come un'hamburgheria, con qualche aggiunta inaspettata come gli spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino. Ho anche provato dell'Hummus. È una crema fredda tipica della cucina mediorientale e mediterranea, a base di ceci lessati e frullati, tahina (salsa di sesamo), succo di limone e aglio. Le spezie più comuni aggiunte sono il cumino e la paprika, ma si possono trovare varianti con curcuma, coriandolo, peperoncino o altre miscele di spezie. Viene servito come antipasto, spalmato su pane pita o accompagnato da verdure crude.

L'ambiente è informale e vivace, tipico di una birreria. Il cibo, devo ammettere, non mi ha particolarmente colpito. Ho provato gli spaghetti, e non erano nulla di memorabile, né in positivo né in negativo; una preparazione semplice, ma senza quel guizzo che li avrebbe resi speciali. Sembra che la cucina non sia il loro punto di forza principale, o almeno, non per quanto riguarda la varietà che mi aspettavo. Il vero punto di forza de Il Birrivico sono indubbiamente le birre. La selezione è vasta e di alta qualità, con proposte che accontentano diversi gusti. Se siete appassionati di birra, questo è il posto giusto per voi. Ho apprezzato molto la possibilità di scegliere tra diverse spine e bottiglie, e le birre che ho assaggiato erano eccellenti, servite alla giusta temperatura e con la dovuta attenzione. In sintesi, se cercate un buon hamburger o una pizza tradizionale, potreste rimanere un po' delusi. I went with an Italian friend and the place seemed nice and there was a good atmosphere in general. However, the waitress was rude when she realized I was a tourist. My friend had been dealing with the conversation in Italian initially, then her demeanor changed completely when I spoke English.

Then after she started being rude also to my Italian friend and said she didn't have soda/tonic water, which is pretty basic for every beer/cocktail bar. It felt like she didn't want to serve us.
