If trying to go as a walk-in, don't bother, make a booking first, preferably in some Italian name.
Went alone as walk-in, Felt instantly unwelcome, maybe because he (owner uncle) thought would not spend as much as they expect, either because I was alone or because I was Indian (racism?) or combination of both; dont know. In hindi - जैसे बेज्जती हुई
At 7.30pm, when only 1 table was occupied, did not allow me to sit, as all tables were apparently 'booked'. When I saw the booking chart, some tables were booked for not before 9 & 9.30 pm, leaving enough time for 1 person to order, eat, leave and then some more...but, according to uncle, would not be possible.
Having come all the way from Duomo Square, where I was staying, ordered takeaway instead. At first, said may not be possible, then maybe felt guilty & took the order. Thought of leaving without giving them my business & money did cross my mind, but somehow just let go.
To give credit where due, order was ready in 10-15 mins. I sensed the owner aunty (most likely uncle's wife) feeling pity/guilty/sorry for not allowing to dine-in, when food was ready.
Coming to the food, taste was not bad. Roti became little rubbery by the time I reached back, but that was a given.
Afterthought - It's their restaurant, so they do have a right to say no to anyone (maybe some bad experience, due to which even main door is locked & opened from inside when someone comes). But, in the service...

The authenticity of the cuisine was remarkable, making us feel right at home despite being miles away.
The ambiance and hospitality further added to the experience, with the staff making us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed. Our group was large, but the service was attentive and efficient, accommodating all our requests seamlessly.

Read moreAuthentic Indian restaurant, as soon as we walked in we felt like we made a good choice as the atmosphere was very relaxed with people enjoying their food. While we did have to wait a little for our food, this was absolutely fine as everything was cooked fresh, much different to what we are used to in the UK where many restaurants batch cook and reheat food. The starters we had (pakora & mixed kebab) were very nice, though the stars of the show were the main dishes (chicken tikka & lamb kadahi gosht), truly amazing flavour and meat cooked to perfection, especially the lamb which fell apart. 2 of the best curries we’ve ever eaten, and we’ve had quite a few. Special mention for the garlic naan as well which was lovely. If you’re in Como and enjoy an Indian, you have to try here, you...
