We ordered a variety of dishes to get a full taste of what this place has to offer.
For appetizers, we tried the meat pie — the crust was a bit dry and the filling could’ve used more seasoning. It might be the traditional style, but personally, we found it a little too mild in flavor.
For mains, we had the Jollof menu (rice, salad, and chicken). The salad was fresh and vibrant, the rice was decent, and the chicken could benefit from a bit more seasoning to bring out its full potential.
We also tried the rice with meat, potatoes, and peanut curry. The peanut flavor really stood out, but we were hoping for a more balanced blend of spices — it felt like it needed a touch more salt or seasoning to round it out.
The highlights: The plantains were absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also had puff puffs for dessert, which were lightly sweet and fluffy — a great match for coffee or tea.
On a positive note, the portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable for what we got — definitely a good value overall.

Read moreMy wife, son, and I had an absolutely delightful experience at this Nigerian restaurant in Como, and we can’t wait to return! From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that lasted throughout our visit. Her passion for her craft and hospitality made us feel right at home. The food was a true taste of West Africa, abundant and bursting with flavor. The rice was cooked to perfection, infused with legitimate, vibrant spices that brought every bite to life. The hot sauce was to die for bold, fiery, and unforgettable! My son raved about his fried rice and chicken, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The vegetarian dish was equally impressive, offering a fresh and flavorful option that we all loved. This restaurant is a little gem of West African cuisine in Como. It’s easy, straightforward, and excellent in every way. We have already recommended it to our close friends, and we are excited to come back for more of that incredible food and warm hospitality....

Jollof Lake Como serves authentic West African meals that will have you dancing in your seat. I ordered a Senegalese dish called Thieboudienne and not a crumb was left. I got to speak with the Nigerian owner Linda who was just a delight. She greeted each guest as they came in and made sure we were all taken care of. As often as I'm in the Como area I was happy to discover this restaurant on Via Milano. A walk outside of the walled area 5 minutes up the road and you will enjoy your gastronomic experience. The menu is limited but it's OK because no matter the order you won't go wrong. I can't wait to go back! I always forget to take pictures of the food. I'll do better 🙂 when you go have a...
