Disgraceful room, disgraceful service and disgraceful beer. The room - A large, wide open space from wall to wall and from floor to ceiling. Without appropriate soundproofing in such a large space and with over 100 people talking and a music system struggling to fill the room, this creates an uncomfortable experience. The service - After arriving at a table which still had dirty glasses and empty bottles on it from a previous customer, we waited for more than 10 minutes without any service until a member of our group had to go to the bar and ask for someone to come and take our order. When the waiter eventually arrived, they looked so unhappy to be working there, they looked as if they had just received news that someone closed to them had just died. Our drinks were then prepared and placed on a tray at the bar and left there for another 2 minutes. Then a different waiter approached the tray and appeared to have no idea which table the tray was destined for. I assume there must've been an order ticket under our drinks with a table number on it because the waiter, with apparently no sense of hygiene, placed his fingers on the rim of one of the beer glasses (yes the rim; the part of the glass that you put your mouth on and drink from) and lifted the glass to see the table number. Eventually our drinks arrived. The waiter did not communicate with us and placed the drinks randomly on the table so we all had to figure out what drink belonged to who. The beer - I had ordered a blonde beer, similar to a larger but I received a cloudy, heavy beer which tasted like... (I'll be polite here) Not very nice. But maybe that's just me.
My original review (which you can see at the start of this review) was replyed to by the owner of Baladin who said "Sorry Mark, we don't reply to such a disgracful review." Which I thought was strange because they did reply. Google reviews give the customer an opportunity to express their opinion good or bad, positive or negative. Positive reviews are good but in my opinion negative reviews are even better as it gives the owner of a business a chance to see where they may be able to improve, to explain their side of the story and to change the customer's opinion about their business. Open Baladin is and amazing building in an amazing location. Most of the slow growing number of tourists who come to visit the beautiful town of Cuneo from countries all around the world where good service is expected, will go to Baladin which make places like Baladin the face of Cuneo. What a tourist may experience in Baladin may lead to their overall impression of Cuneo as a whole. Baladin therefore has a responsibility to uphold a certain level of service. I am not here to criticise Baladin but my review unfortunately reflects my experience. Running and managing such a potentially iconic venue can be challenging (particularly in Italy where taxes are high and where running a business has the possibility to send one to an early grave) but those in charge must remember why they are doing it in the first place, must both train their staff and treat their customers with the respect they deserve. Doing this can only bring success and positive reviews. I'm sorry to the owner if they saw my honest review as a negative one instead of something to take on board and work hard to improve on. I will visit Baladin again in 2020 and give it a second chance and I hope my review can be a much more positive one. Remember, embrace negative reviews and always strive to be the best version of yourself that you can be. Until...
Read moreOk an Irish American, an Indonesian, a Singaporean and an Australian walk into this bar. Sounds like a bar joke but this place is far from a Joke. I had three types of amazing beer all made by their brewery. They make everything from scratch. Their own brand of Cola, bread, sauces everything. The burgers were amazing. The atmosphere was so chilled out and comfortable. None of us spoke Italian but we had one waiter that went through everything on the menu at least twice and seriously couldn't do enough to help us. One of the nicest places i have been to on the road in a long time and would highly recommend it to anyone. There is even a big playground right next door if you want to let the kids off their chain they will have a ball. While you inhale some truly wonderful beer! Thank you Guys...
