RoVi — Restaurant in Ercolano

Awful experience! After eating a pizza, I was finishing my drink, at which point we were rudely asked to leave, because “the table was reserved”. There was no indication that the table was reserved, when we came - the waiter sat us at that table himself just half an hour before and didn’t mention there was any time limit as to the table’s availability. Also the people he gave the table to did not have any reservation, because I overheard the waiter ask them if they did and they said No. Also they had a restaurant full of empty tables downstairs. Also we were there for only 30 mins, so not like we were occupying the table for a long time. When I was paying the check, I noticed that they charged me 33% service fee without any heads up or explanation - I noticed only after I paid. Totally unacceptable! I don’t know if they treated us that way because we didn’t order much (we are small Asian people, so we can’t eat much, physically), or because they were simply racist (there were other tables occupied by people way longer than us and they did not ask anyone else to leave). Whatever it is, I’d recommend to stay away from this place, because on top of the terrible mistreatment we received, the pizza was not good, it was burnt all over and...

We attended this evening at around 18.50, a table for two. No one greeted us, no one approached us; I’d say the young lady with black glasses actively avoided serving us. I tried to make first contact, not that this should be my function as patron with a friendly ‘ciao’ and got a filthy look in return. The lady with the slapped arse expression, my fellow Brits will get the phrasing, dropped the knives and forks on our table; not a word uttered. Some time passed, again I tried to make eye contact; nothing. The same glum, bad attitude expression. At this point I felt genuinely uncomfortable, I’d been here before a few nights previous and hence returned looking for a similar positive experience. After a while we got up and left without ordering, fantastically the ladies face was one of horror as we walked out. Bad attitude = no patronage. A real shame we had really enjoyed our previous visit, I will not give my money to someone with that attitude. We went 5 minutes up the road and spent our money elsewhere. Well done that young lady, ruined my evening and lost yourself a decent tip....

Prima volta a San Valentino dal Ro.Vi pizzeria, una piacevole scoperta. Personale accogliente, disponibile e dinamico nel gestire la sala rispondendo alle richieste dei clienti nei tempi giusti. Locale pulito e curato nei dettagli, dallo stile elegante e minimal. La cosa più piacevole è l'atmosfera tranquilla, musica molto soft e ambiente silenzioso, dove poter passare ore di tranquillità in compagnia del buon cibo. L'antipasto formato dai fritti è fatto in maniera perfetta; crocchè, frittatina di paste e arancino, tutti con panatura croccante, interno composto da ingredienti di qualità e il sapore si sente, ma per la prima volta è un fritto che non unge, non so se è la bravura dello chef ma ho l'impressione che siano passati al forno dopo esser stati fritti, in ogni caso complimenti perchè si vede che sono studiati. Arriviamo alla pizza, abbiamo scelto "La mista" e "Marinara a modo nostro", impasto sottile, leggero e soffice, segno di una alta percentuale di idratazione; ingredienti freschi e di qualità, le spezie come l'origano e il basilico sulla marinara rilasciavano un'ottimo odore. La pizza è fatta con prodotti di qualità e si sente a partire dalle basi, ho notato attraverso la pizza "mista" il profumo predominante della farina; una farina di qualità, e mi piace. La parte deludente della serata è stata il dolce, si notava che avevano finito i dolci e con astuzia hanno elaborato una serie di dolci veloci, riciclando l'impasto della pizza. Bombetta a nutella, bombetta con ricotta e marmellata di albiocche, straccetti con nutella queste le loro proposte, mentre in un altro tavolo avevano servito un tiramisù o altri dolci freschi. A mio avviso, se hai un numero di coperti prenotati, per loro almeno il dolce lo devi riservare, per chi si aggiunge all'ultimo magari ripieghi su altro. Tuttavia a prescindere da questa piccola pecca, il dolce non è stato di nostro gradimento, troppo pesante dopo aver già mangiato fritti e pizza; consiglio di proporre delle crostate servite con uno spruzzo di panna o del gelato alla vaniglia. Qualcosa di sempre pronto e che puoi consumare su più giorni. Altra piccola nota è la mancanza di un posto auto, in settimana può andar bene, un piccolo ripiego lo si trova, ma penso che nei week end sia più difficile da gestire. In ogni modo ci torneremo sicuramente, per assaggiare l'ottima pizza e godere dell'accoglienza e dell' atmosfera tranquilla e lontana dal...
