Ristorante Pizzeria Venus is officially the worst place I have ever eaten anywhere in Italy, despite having been on vacarion here many years! We ordered an appetizer with different kinds of potatoes, and pretty much got the entire frozen section from the nearest supermarket. About halfway through it, the waiter came with our pizzas, despite the fact that he had been pacing the restaurant and looked over our shoulder every 30 seconds. The pizza came, and the dough was not even halfway done, as the filling was about 30 centimeters high (more or less) and every part of the pizza was disgusting. It was dripping with oil (and not in the good way), the sausages were most likely made of 3rd or 4th tier meat, as they were uneadible. I ate about 2 slices (have no idea how many slices, because the pizza had been cut like it was supposed to look like a freaking tennis raquet). 10/10 would not recommend going there. Never have I sent food back before, and today was not that day either, as it was simply not worth it to even try again, as both my and my girlfriends pizzas were despicable with chewy meat and sausages with what looked like...
Read moreWe wanted the view and a pizza each. We did get the pizza with a glass of Sicilian wine. The wine I thought was pretty nice. The pizza however was an absolute nightmare. It was just a margarita, I prefer that when I'm trying pizza in a new place. Now this one was absolutely horrible. The dough being puffy and thick at the same time of it being partly burnt and partly raw.
Luckily on top there was enough cheese, which wasn't its saving grace but at least it had that. Tomato sauce was nothing to write home about either. Also it was cut up in a grid style fashion, that was hands down the weirdest experience here.
The waiters were nice, one of them spoke English. It just got really chaotic when a lot of other tourists arrived and filled the restaurant. It feels just like that, a restaurant for tourists. There should be a view, but only if you arrive early and be seated at that single table that...
Read moreHad one of the best pastas in my life here. With pancetta, mushrooms, pistacchios and an entire burrata on top. Delicious! Also the pizzas looked really good. One of us had the seafood pizza and she needed to look for the pizza because there was soooo mich stuff on it. For the portion size it is rather on the cheap side for the area. We did however get a bit of an annoyed look when we asked to...
