Worst restaurant experience in Italy I have ever had. First waitress we encountered was friendly and seated us. 2nd waitress then came, dark hair very rude demeanor, came to take our orders. No menus, she bluntly started by stating, "Hello, I am your menu." No name or anything. So, she stated what was on offer, barely getting through it. No prices were given. We chose our food. Pasta starters, mixed grill main, White wine with ice, water, 1 cola. Drinks arrived, no wine glasses or ice. Had to ask 3 times for wine glasses and ice. Eventually a third waitress came and informed the ice machine is broken. Nevermind, I still gave a smile and was friendly, told him its ok dont worry, just give us some wine glasses at least. Starters arrived, was good. Gnocchi was a bit on the salty side, tagliatelle was better. 2nd waitress came back to clear plates, removing the used cutlery from the plates and placing them back on the table. Covered in sauce and everything. My jaw was on the floor. Asked the 1st waitress to kindly remove them and bring a fresh set. Main came after 20min. Grilled fish platter for 2. 2 people, not the biggest portion. But what perplexed me is that the "grilled" platter was covered in soft and soggy bread crumbs. Had to call another waitress (4th one we dealt with at this point) to bring us some lemon, which is completely standard for a fish meal, and some tartar sauce. She brought us lemon and 2 sachets of mayo and ketchup. Bravo. Salad consisted of lettuce (mostly the hard white butt of the lettuce) and julienne carrots in olive oil. Had hard crisps with the meal too, first time having lays style crisps with fish. I look past this, but most of the world expects fries when offered fish and chips, just fyi. Finished, waited another 20 minutes before I got irritated and cleared the table myself, placing plates on the corner of table. Waitress then noticed and picked up plates. I asked for the bill at the same time. Waited another 20 minutes. Got irritated again and asked the 1st waitress to please ring us up. I paid. 2nd waitress, visably irritated too, then took the receipt and stated, "oh no this is for another table." At this point I was very displeased and asked to compare bills. Whatever, paid extra 12 euros. 54 euros for this? Never again. I then expressed that it was the worst Italian dining experience, the staff were shocked. Surely not the first time people have complained. Restaurant needs to do better!...
Read moreWe came due to recommendation of a local, but this might as well be one of my worst dining experience ever. We came and nice waitress seated us. Then another waitress came and started telling us menu in English (she said they dont have it written, so we didnt even know the price ahead). We had to ask her to repeat the menu twice, but still werent entirely sure about menu, so my boyfriend ordered. ( he is English native speaker so the issue was clearly not with us). The waitress brought us drinks and we had to ask two times for wine glasses. Then their ice machine was broken ,which was said to us after asking them for three times (every time different waiter came). The first course was very nice,we had pasta. When we finished our course, the waitress came and she threw used cutlery back on the table, we were perplexed because it was dirty. When we asked for clean cutlery, another waiter came and looked at us weirdly, but later brought it. At this point we could already see the stuff laughing at us. The second course was okay. We have different perception of the difference between grilled platter (which we ordered) and fried platter (which we got), but obviously English translation. Generally food was okay, but I wouldnt come back. Waiting for everything (glasses, ice, even bill for 20 minutes). But the service and especially arrogance of the dark hair waitress was horrible. I cant understand that not every day is happy day, but if you are providing service, you should try extra more. This place has lot of potential and their staff ruins it for the owner. It was my worst experience in Italy and under no circumstances i would come back here to spend my...
