Ristorante Al Buco — Restaurant in Fasano

We chose the place for lunch because it looked friendly and inviting from the outside (multi national flags out front) and the waiter next door (at Il Punto) was not giving a friendly vibe, despite the restaurant being empty. The oysters were delicious and fresh but the rest of the food (octopus, spaghetti with mussels, prawns and grilled vegetables were not deserving of the price. The reason for 1 star is the service. Without a doubt the worst service we have had in 3 weeks of traveling Europe. It was rude and slow. We were even ignored when trying to pay the bill. We walked away regretting eating there and wondering what we did to deserve the poor service, thinking perhaps it was because we were speaking English rather...

The way of communication and level of customer service are unacceptable. First we arrived before opening and were told to come back 10mins later with the warning that could be seated inside only. When we went back the welcome was anything but warm and acted rude when chosing table (inside) in a totally empty restaurant. The other tables were might reserved, but a bunch of waiters in their 20s were uncapable of managing this situation politely and inform us. We decided to leave and had a wonderdul dinner at Il punto - that place is highly recommended with all its high quality...
