We came to try traditional dishes, and this restaurant was recommended by our host. Two of us shared four dishes. We ate well, in that we were able to sample the local specialty, and portion size was big. I enjoyed salamina da sugo, as it was the first time I tasted it. Other dishes we tried were fried fiori di zucca, cappellacci di zucca, and pollo arrosto. They were all ok - I do not foresee myself returning to order the same dishes. We didn't think the service was the best. Although we booked a table four days in advance, we were initially given the most uncomfortable table in the middle of the hall and the table wasn't even ready for us. The more annoying part was that there was a nicer table by the wall, next to our assigned table, and it was already set up for 2 people. We asked for that table instead. We had a small suitcase and a backpack. The staff initially refused to give us that table as it was 'reserved for someone else'. We insisted hard, and they agreed to give us that table, which we appreciated. A few minutes later an Italian couple, who must have reserved the table now assigned to us, arrived and was given the table in the middle of the hall. They did not seem to be too upset, fortunately. I wonder if the couple had asked for that specific table which we took... During our meal, the waiter was nice to give us additional plates to share the dishes between us, however, we were so rushed. At one point I was still scooping the last bit of the sauce from a plate when he hurriedly removed the plate. It was rather embarrassing... Clearly the waiter wanted us to leave asap so that he can close the lunch service for the day. There were still some 10 or so groups dining, we were not the last. I wish if I had made a better effort to learn Italian language, which should have helped us...
Read moreWe went to this place to have a dinner with my colleagues. After 15 minutes they asked what we want, we ordered a plate with ham and cheese as starter, two times beef filet and a capellachi as main course. It took at least fifteen minutes again until we got our starter. The others get with it special bread immediately, we were waiting another minutes to get bread but nothing happened. We started to eat, because we were really hungry, in the meantime they changed the already empty basket of bread to a full one at the table behind us. When we almost finished we successfully catched them to ask for bread... To the last 5 bites we could taste the bread... After this they brought the beef filet without sidish, they did not asked if we want at the ordering but come on.... who is eating 20€ steak without sidish. +1: you should drink the Beer from glasses for water.
Thanks, really not...
Read moreWent with my partner (me 33 and my partner 27 years old) at noon for lunch asking if they have a table for 2. We were told they are fully booked while the restaurant was empty, we then asked if we could book for dinner or for lunch the next day and without checking anything we were told again they are fully booked. We kept walking around the city center, the restaurant was under booked, less than half of the tables were occupied.
Extremely surprised of the way we were treated and still can't explain the ratial profiling or what other reason in the world they would have to deny service. Both my partner and I were well dressed and politely adressing the staff.
Very unhappy and almost motivated to file a ratial profiling complaint with the local...
