I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. From the moment you walk in, it'll be 5-star service, with really excellent food to accompany. The menu is rich and creative, with twists on typical local and Italian dishes. We started with zucca-stuffed calamaro, which came on a cream made of chickpea - some of the best calamari I've ever had. I had spaghettoni alle vongole for my first course, a creamy, peppery, take on the original. My boyfriend had the gnocchetti and the veal cheek, which he said was excellent. For my second I had seafood crudités, which again were delicious and really high quality. To accompany our meal we chose a bottle of local Bosco Eliceo wine, dubbed a 'lively white' on the extensive wine menu. And for dessert, some small cannoli filled with mascarpone. They provided amouse bouche both at the beginning and end of the meal, alongside excellent recommendations for amari (which they didn't charge for). Everything together came to 108 euros (for two sizeable appetizers, two firsts and one second, one dessert, a bottle of wine, two bottles of water, two coffees and two amari). It's expensive for Ferrara, but not for the quality of food and service we received. A really enjoyable time which I will repeat whenever in Ferrara, a really special place. The only thing I would say is to check in advance if you don't speak Italian, as I'm not sure there are English menus. Oh and make sure to book ahead as well. Five star food and service, thank you for an excellent...

We came here just a few minutes after the opening and there were no people here. They told us they only had one table on the terrace without reservation - we were suspicious as there was noone there but we played along.

In less than 20 minutes, there wasn't a free table anywhere and once we tasted the food it was clear why. Not a single dish left anything to be desired and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was excellent.

I highly recommend this place. I attached some pictures of food we had the pleasure of trying.

I hope you enjoy it as much and have as much fun as we did...

What a lovely place. I went for lunch on a Tuesday, and the inside of the restaurant was busy but no one was sitting outside (it was a bit cool). I sat outside and ordered a glass of wine and the signature cappelllacci di zucca - man, what a treat. They also brought out a small plate of assorted focaccia, a fennel and broccoli soup, and a teeny dessert free of charge. I’m not sure if they were just being exceptionally hospitable to the girl eating alone outside or if this is how they treat all customers, but regardless it was a wonderful experience and everything was delicious.
