This review is primarily about the service. First time I felt like I was an inconvenience at a restaurant. No one ever smiled. We were greeted by server with Sí. We were brought bread and oil and balsamic but no plates to eat with. We ordered salad and 2 entrees and all were brought at once. No one EVER came by to see if all was on or not. They mopped the floor around our feet as we sat at table. Waitress dragged high chair and seat around making horrible dragging noise around us. We arrived at 17:30 and we were 2 of maybe 8 people in a very large and beautiful place yet zero attention given by staff. Calamari was very good but absent of any sauce ( may be normal for Italy but unexpected ) Tuna Salad was very good. Grilled Sea Bass small and dry with little flavor. There was another non local there that was treated the same as we were and he just got up after his food, paid his bill and left. THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO GO IF NOT A LOCAL OR YOU DON'T SPEAK ITALIAN. We have been to many restaurants during our 2+ weeks in Italy from Rome to Civitonova Marche to Fiumicino, and this was hands down the worst service of all. We were excited to come here given the reviews, especially since it was our last night in Italy, but alas outside of the views and the beautiful decor it was not a...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this little beachfront restaurant in Fiumicino by chance — and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of our trip. The atmosphere was everything you’d expect from the Italian coast: the sound of the waves, the scent of the sea, and smiling waiters who genuinely seemed happy to see you.
The seafood pizza was nothing short of a masterpiece — thin, perfectly baked crust topped with plenty of fresh mussels, calamari, and shrimp, each bite tasting like a breeze straight from the ocean. The carbonara was creamy and delicate, with a perfect balance of flavors, and without the overload of cream you often find in tourist spots.
To pair with the meal, we ordered a refreshing Hugo Spritz with its light elderflower aroma, and a carafe of homemade wine that turned out to be wonderfully bright and sunny. It was one of those moments where you just want to raise your glass and savor life.
Thank you for the delicious food, the warm service, and the cozy atmosphere. This is a place we would gladly return to...
Read moreWe love returning over and over again to BBQ Village for a quick lunchtime or sunset break at the seashore. It's an easy-to-reach escape from the stresses of Rome.
The service [particularly the service that GIULIA has provided us on each of our many visits] is ultra-friendly and accommodating. A happy customer experience always seems to be the centerpoint of the service we receive and the friendliness we experience
The restaurant is spacious and bright and the terrace is comfortable too. However, if you want to eat directly on the sand, away from the busy restaurant crowd, then if you ask nicely, you might even find yourself sitting on a beach chair at a table-cloth set folding-table set up on the sand only for you [in the off-season]!
It might almost seem romantic.
Although Fiumicino can certainly not be ranked a beach resort of choice, if you're looking for an easy-to-reach escape from the stresses of Rome, then its white-sandy and spacious beaches are the easiest to reach from the Italian capital.
Thank you Giulia for your unstinting service and amazing hospitality!
Just for the record, I rarely give 5stars. But this service is truly a rarity in Rome.
