If you are a black person visiting Italy around Fiumicino, please don’t visit this place. First, I went there on November 26, and they were closed or doing some cleaning, but the people outside didn't even care to explain it. I came back on November 28 to try to eat. I Googled it and said that the restaurant was open. I walked in there around 12. A man who was setting up the table told me that the restaurant would be open at 12:40 p.m. I told him it was okay and that I would wait. I stayed in front of the restaurant, waiting for him to say it was OK for us to come. I saw him welcoming other customers and sitting them at the table. It is impressive how some Italian people are still very prejudiced against black people. I was on vacation, and I wanted to support the local business. My sisters and I went to the next restaurant, Oltremare, nearby. They have an excellent welcome, and the service is good. To the owner, I am sorry if you are surprised by my review; I am only describing how I felt. My husband is American/ Italian and gave me this vacation as my birthday gift to celebrate my birthday with my sisters. I am indeed very disappointed. Ask the old skinny man who told me the restaurant was not open until 12:40 p.m. Maybe he thought I couldn't afford...
Read moreThis review is for the Locanda Della Ciciatta behind the Pantheon. Some of the pictures you see here were taken there, so it can be confused easily! The Locanda is a horrible tourist trap which charges easily for times of what they advertise in their menu. It is a real tourist trap, notably not listed on TripAdvisor and changing their name ever so often. Entry offer a drink and free pizza for ten Euros but then charge for every item. If I owned the other place, the Taverna, I would insist that a note of caution be advertised that they cannot...
Read moreWe probably had one of our best meals in Italy at Fabietto's! The fish is so fresh, and the cooks really know their work! We loved the appetizer plate that the owner suggested (the anchovies and the seafood salad were absolutely fabulous). The seafood pasta was some of the best pasta I've ever had or cooked. The grilled fish platter was also just perfect - it was our last meal of the trip and what a meal! We drank the wine della casa and enjoyed the beautiful evening by the water. The staff couldn't have been nicer! A...
