Non-locals beware! The owner(s) of this place have decided that they can fleece visitors (passing trade to the airport, no loyalty driver) for as much as they like. I ordered a linguine with prawns and was served a child's starter portion of pasta with 4 shrimp. It tasted good, but was gone in 60 seconds. I had noticed that three other tables, populated by local Italians (loyalty required), had ordered various pasta dishes and received proper portions with a good quantity of fish, mussels and prawns. On a table next to us a non-local woman was also presented with a plate of food that would have embarrassed even in a region of famine, frankly. I was too slow to realise that we were being taken for fools, but again...we were passing trade, so what do they care? When I mentioned it on paying the bill there was the obligatory shrugging of shoulders and wry and contemptuous smile. If you're not even slightly hungry, this is the place to go for a mouthful of pasta at a very healthy price, otherwise give it a miss, there are many other choices about, I doubt they are all as determined to fleece...
Read moreWe came to eat here as the reviews were good and we had a 50% discount on food. The food was tasty, but if I would have to pay full price for it I would not. We ordered fantasia which contained different types of fish(the price 18€ we thought we will share it between two). But would not be enough for one person. Next we wanted a grilled fish but the server showed us each time something different on the menu and we did not get what we wanted. We ordered lemon sorbet as a dessert and got a 1dcl plastic cup of lemon ice-slushy FOR 6€! That was not worth 0,50p. For 6€ I expected at least 3 scoops of proper lemon sorbet. I forgot to take a picture of it so I am adding one from a different review, at least they had it served in glass and a lot more than us. Lastly, the servers seemed to be the owners, they are very nice but they could use someone young that cleans and sets up the tables, helps with service… then the owners would have much more time to “chat” with customers and we would not wait with empty plates most of our visit. Definitely not worth 2€ per person for the...
Read moreI will start by saying that I rarely leave reviews. I usually do it either when something captivates me or when something is below any level of criticism.
Moving on to the review: the food tasted awful, the quality was palpable, you could feel that the chef had not put any effort into it. Adding poor quality ingredients to that - result is a disaster.
I have a direct comparison to a restaurant in the center of Rome where I ate the day before. I ate pasta there for the half of price, which was 5 levels higher. Absurd.
It may be that I am ignorant, but I really do not recommend this place, especially to tourists. The waiter was annoying, tiresome and misleading about buying a drink. While we are on the subject of drinks... I bought an aperol spritz that tasted like a cheap imitation. I spent 26 euros in this restaurant for pasta and a drink. The price would be okay if the taste and quality of the products went hand in hand with it.
I do...
