Let's start with the waiting time. Booking at 1300, order taken at 1430. They tell us that you should take the menu as anything else takes forever to get. We agree to the menu.
I do understand that in times of Covid-19 the times are rough, but this place went so far below the bar that it is hard to accept.
First food arrives at the table 1450, it is some rice with octopus, clams, potatoes with octopus and some veggies with what I think is.. Octopus and some small pieces of fried salmon.
It becomes obvious here why anything other than the menu takes forever. The food seems like it was cooked maybe a week ago and just heated up.
The second course took only an hour more to arrive and got to us at 15:35. It is spaghetti with clams. The pasta is overcooked and there are pieces of broken clam in the mix. I would characterise it like a pasta someone microwaved after it had been frozen. During the meal I also asked for a beer, the table next to us had a nice large Peroni and I figured that'd be nice. The waitress told me that this was the only big one and only small ones are left. I said alright, let's take a small one. Waited 10 min, no beer. Asked next waitress, a magical big Peroni arrived. I question their honesty. Great stuff. Can't wait for the next course.
The main arrived at 16:15, fried random mix of fish. These might have been cooked recently. Not sure. There are a few shrimps, some various smaller fish and a bit of octopus. All deep fried. Very small amount of food, but at least it was something.
We asked the bill at 1630, hoping that our agreed menu does not include any more torture. The bill arrived finally at 16:45.
Overall an absolutely horrible experience and I would not recommend this even to my worst enemy. As we are in Italy I think quoting Dante is appropriate. "Abandon hope all ye...
Read moreI love this place. My boyfriend who is from Rome took me here for the first time in 2018 as we found it on the fork. It was incredible and since then it is my favorite fish restaurant to come to. I haven’t been back in Italy in two years because of COVID and the was my first summer to do so. As always the owner is extremely friendly. He pays attention to everyone and takes care of every need. If you have a drop of water left in your water bottle he is already on his way to ask if you’d like one more. This time around I had spaghetti alle vongole and my boyfriend linguine allo scoglio, both of them were excellent. The owner also suggested to do a mix of cooked antipasti and raw antipasti. Everything was delicious and I feel as though I got to taste the entire antipasti menu which was really great. The price for two people was amazing at €90. For all of the high quality fish we got with two generous pasta dishes, a bottle of wine, and 2 limoncello I would consider this more than fair. Thank you so much to the owner as always he is always smiling and kind and to the wonderful waitress that took care of us as she was very sweet and professional as well. I hope to...
