Bivio Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Florence

Saturday night, We were returning home after a 3 day tour in Germany. Due to our flight connection in Germany we didn't have the opportunity to eat after lunch, so we were hungry and missing our italian flavours.Our flight was scheduled to arrive 22.00 so we fear that we may not find a place open for a good pizza. We searched online and found Bivio that based on google information, it closes at midnight. We arrived there without booking in advance. We were warmly welcomed and offered a table for 2 immediately, although the restaurant was crowded. We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 drinks, and our wait was really short. The pizzas were delicious. The service fsntastic. I also noticed they served a great "bisteca fiorentina.They also had a room for large groups available fos special events. 5 stars...

Writing this as an italian living in London where you have the biggest selection you could ever dream of. This restaurant surprised us with familiarity of flavours with intriguing twists, sublime presentation, and a modern but cozy environment, with the level of music that allows quiet conversations without issues between tables.

And I could say more on the food, all the first courses were delicious, but you have eyes and all of their menu tastes as good as it looks, trust them with their meat meat selection as it's truly finely picked to represent one of the best experiences for Fiorentina steak. The staff is well informed so follow their lead.

Last but not least, their cheesecake, it's remarkable and something I'll reference for any future cheesecake...

The worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had in Italy — avoid this place at all costs. We arrived at 8:00 PM and left at 10:30 PM, without even being able to finish our dinner. Not once were we brought the jug of water we requested; we had to chase multiple staff members just to get a single bottle. We specifically asked for a lightly cooked pizza base — it arrived completely burnt. It took 45 minutes after we finished our main course for a waiter to even clear our table, and when we tried to order dessert, he brushed us off, saying he would come back later. He never did. Despite repeatedly trying to get someone’s attention, we were completely ignored. In the end, we left — no service, no apology, not even a glance. We will of course never set foot...
