So in the past I have been eating in this restaurant, and as before, the pizza was really good again. Instead of saying something about it, meanwhile there was a glass with some blood on it, I asked to change it but it was some time before they changed it, after which my friend and I ordered a cut based on what i still didn't understand, and a burgher. The cut was rubbery and looked as old as meat, while the side dish didn't fit anything, the burgher instead was pretty to see, we had asked for blood but it was overcooked, and it had the sauce inside the turmeric and curry, which covered all the flavors, nothing could be heard outside of that sauce. In the end we took a dessert hoping for a better ending, as the desserts almost never disappointed anywhere, instead they brought us a pistachio cheesecake that besides the fact that it was tough marmata, I bet it was also bought and not made there from them, total disappointment. I speak as a cook, so I mean a little. Once the pizza was served, the other dishes arrived after an hour and a half, despite the fact that the place was small and there weren't many people, the waitress who served us very nice, but a little embarrassed, probably was upset because maybe he was on probation. Also English is to be reviewed. So if you want to eat pizza and good soft and slightly chewy dough and very good ingredients. A pizza, a sliced burger u and a cheesecake and a € 67.50 water ... and despite having seen that the dessert had not been touched, and was explained why they did pay the same. All in all it is a place where you can eat pizza well, the rest not, but even if the waiter does not give you a smile and the dishes arrive after all that time, it is not worth the wait The wait, there are much more good places and with affordable prices to the quality of food and service. ...
Read moreOn our last night in Florence, we ate at Bottega Conviviale and this was the perfect farewell dinner! We ordered the mezze maniche rigate with cod fish in spicy tomato sauce and pecorino cheese with shrimps pizza. The pizza was made with a special extra hydrated largely whole-wheat dough, and we couldn't have had enough of it. The crust was crispy yet fluffy on the inside. The pasta was perfectly cooked and that sauce was to die for, we literally cleaned our plates to the very last drop we could find. To top it all we ordered Tiramisu for dessert!! No flashy presentation just a healthy piece of tiramisu served on a plain white plate, and they let flavors do the talk. The place offers a lot of complimentary stuff as well. White wine and ricotta stuffed bread were served as a welcome. A house special liquor with biscotti is served at the end. Since we dont drink alcohol we had to send back the liquor but we heard from others around that it was pretty delicious. Oh and fyi, the restaurant also boasts a fine...
Read moreI'm going to sound like a pretentious dork in this review. This is by far the best pizza I've ever had. I've been obsessed with making my own pizza for about two years now. I've read a few different bread making and pizza making books, and have a pretty solid grasp on doing my own. I've gone to a ton of restaurants to see 'how it's really done' (aka how it's done when someone who knows what they're doing has a proper pizza oven, compared to my amateur stuff + crappy home kitchen oven.)
Everything was great. The dough was slightly tangy, very delicate, chewy, crispy, perfectly charred. I had the Marinola pizza, which was anchovies + basil + olives, and was a bit nervous about the briny salt overload. Instead, I got this perfectly salty and unique tasting pie. Wife got a great plate of gnocchi, and we shared some really great charcuterie. Reasonably priced, good service, cool location, delicious food. Try to make reservations-- we got lucky and walked into a table, but a lot of people after us...
