Title: Pizzeria Piccolo Cesare Napoletana: Convenient Location, Quick Service, Average Pizzas
Rating: ★★★☆☆
During our visit to Florence, we stumbled upon Pizzeria Piccolo Cesare Napoletana as we parked our car nearby. Attracted by its positive reviews, we decided to give it a try. While the experience was satisfactory overall, it fell short of meeting our high expectations, offering decent pizzas at a medium price point.
Convenience played a significant role in choosing this pizzeria. Its proximity to the parking garage made it a convenient option for a quick meal. However, this popularity came at a cost, as the place was bustling with customers. As a result, we had to share a table, which was not ideal for a more intimate dining experience.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the swift service. The pizzas arrived at our table with impressive speed. This efficiency could be attributed to the pizzeria's well-organized operation. However, the quick turnaround also made us question the authenticity of the traditional Neapolitan pizza-making process. It left us wondering whether the dough had been given enough time to rise and develop its desired flavors.
In terms of taste, the pizzas at Piccolo Cesare Napoletana were decent but didn't quite live up to the hype. While they were enjoyable, they lacked that special touch that would elevate them to the level of extraordinary. The toppings were satisfactory, but the crust, an essential component of any great pizza, fell short of the authentic Neapolitan standard. It lacked the desirable charred edges and pillowy texture that characterize a truly exceptional pizza.
Regarding the prices, I must admit that they were on the higher side for what was offered. The value for money was not exceptional, especially when considering the overall experience and taste. While we didn't leave the pizzeria feeling disappointed, we couldn't help but feel that we had paid a premium for a meal that was merely satisfactory.
The staff at Piccolo Cesare Napoletana were courteous and attentive, providing the necessary service without going above and beyond. While not particularly memorable, they ensured that our dining experience proceeded smoothly.
In conclusion, Pizzeria Piccolo Cesare Napoletana is a decent option for a quick bite, particularly if you're in the vicinity and seeking convenience. The pizzas are satisfactory, albeit falling short of exceptional, and the service is efficient. However, considering the medium price range and the abundance of other notable pizzerias in Florence, it may be worth exploring other options for a truly outstanding...
Read moreHighly recommend! This pizza joint is frequented mostly by locals Pictures and reviews of Piccolo Cesare on Google Maps provided enough impetus to add it to our must try list. We showed up at the restaurant without a reservation around 7:30 PM. The guy who greeted us spoke good English. He told us we could have a table but needed it back by 9:30 PM - no problem. We got an English menu. There were too many selections but not enough belly room. We went with the carbonara and La Napoli pizzas. Both pizzas arrived quickly and hot. The aroma of the crusts from the wood burning oven was devine. The bottom of the pie had the perfect amount of firmness. The outer crust had a slight crisipiness. Ingredients tasted fresh. Both pizzas were really good. This place deserves to be on your list of restaurants to try. We will definitely eat there again if we make it back to Florence. One bad thing(???) is that tourists are finding their way here - like us. Sorry locals, we promise to visit only during...
Read moreIf you ever get a chance to spend Halloween in Italy, do it! We got in to town roughly around 11 PM after driving seven hours from Munich to Florence. I was starving so I hopped on my phone to search for a place to eat at. Lo and behold, this pizza spot was right around the corner from our hotel, and it was still open. So we walked maybe two minutes and hopped inside. Since it was truffle season, we ordered their white pizza and ask the waiter to pick his favorite. After devouring two pizzas, we decided to order another white pizza because it was that good. With our bellies full, we got a second wind and took in the sights and sounds of Florence until the early morning. If you are ever in the mood for pizza, run don’t walk...
