DO NOT SUPPORT THIS RESTAURANT. RUDE SERVICE! OR MORE PRECISELY - NO SERVICE!!!
In the middle of the day, I sought out this restaurant because of it's good rating on Google. The small tavern had a nice traditional ambience and the fact that other Italians were sitting and eating here seemed to be a positive signal. So we sat down at an empty table with four stools.
In the restaurant there were 5 other people already enjoying their lunch. The server of the restaurant rudely told us in Italian, that we would have to wait 20 minutes to be served. Luckily, I can speak Italian and I asked him "Why do we have to wait?". The restaurant was not full and he was standing behind the bar, not visibly "busy". His short answer was "Because it takes 20 Minutes." Then I asked him if he could at least offer us something to drink while waiting. At this point, he repeated that we would have to wait 20 minutes to be served.
Apparently, this man had no interest in serving us tourists. He could not be bothered to wait on us, while he was still waiting on the other two tables.
As we were very hungry and not willing to accept this treatment, we promptly left this restaurant and had a wonderful meal at a different restaurant.
I have not rated the food, because we never even got the chance to taste the food. We would have had to wait 20 Minutes to have our order taken, and who knows how long we would have had to wait before the food was then served!

Read moreStumbled upon this and what a gem!! They’ve been open 103 years, and I met an Italian guy who used to work here and said he came all the time, many many locals come often! Small menu, but delicious. The pasta came out steaming, and the couple next to me loved their meat dishes. Will come next time again and recommend everyone for a little tourist crazy relief at a local Tuscan eatery with charm and charisma. Great service too and had great conversations with the other customers!
Also right around the corner from the Leonardo Da Vinci INTERACTIVE museum. Where I spent the next 2.5hrs after this and my new favorite museum in the world. Can’t...

We loved it! It has only 4 tables which makes it feeling like at home. The menu is short but well done, simple food, cheap (between 6 and 10euros) and tasty! My grand father used to come in this restaurant for many many many years and took me there 13 years ago. I kept such a good memory that I wanted to come back and will come back everytime I am in Firenze. We went to a "fancy restaurant" at night and were so disappointed from the quality after being in vini La Mescita.
Come and support them, they deserve it!!
Courage Vini La Mescita, you will...
