If you're looking for a nice Italian cooking workshop on the go in Florence or just some good Italian food don't hesitate to go to Rosso Crudo :) We had such a fun time making our own pasta's!
Here's how it went!
We first got our tickets online, please make sure to check the reviews first! Lot's of different restaurants do these types of workshops to make ends meet so vibes and expectations can be different between restaurants. Some horror stories from different workshops are lots of people crammed on a table no space, arrogant chefs or staff.
My experience - we were twenty four but we had enough space, the staff and chefs were quite nice, at the beginning they were a little stress to get everybody to listen or calm down but it ended well with lots of laughs and fun. They speak pretty good english but it would help if you do speak some Italian.
The pasta making was great! The chefs came by to check on us and even gave us some tips on how to really roll our pasta! We also got to enjoy other guests and we had lots of wine!!! With some italian history or culture added in! The pasta's that you make aren't cooked individually so you might end up eating someone else's pasta lol but that wasn't a problem at all.
The Tiramisu was not made individual. I'm guessing of time and space. We were given one big bowl to stir and put our love into it than passed it on to the next individual next to us to stir. In the end we were served pasta that we made and tiramisu it was great!
I think what I enjoyed the most was the gathering of different people and enjoying a good moment with others from across the globe in a nice Italian restaurant in Florence!

Read moreRosso Crudo absolutely blew me away. Tucked just off the bustling streets of Florence, this cozy spot delivers the kind of authentic Italian dining experience you dream about.
I had the butter and sage ravioli and the lasagna, both were nothing short of perfection. The ravioli were silky and delicate, swimming in a buttery sage sauce that was aromatic, comforting, and totally addictive. Each bite felt like it was made with love. The lasagna? Layers of rich, slow-cooked ragù, creamy béchamel, and perfectly cooked pasta. It was hands down one of the best I’ve had in Italy.
A special thank you to Massimiliano, our server, who made the experience even more memorable. He was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and the story behind the dishes. His recommendations were spot on, and he made us feel like welcome guests rather than just customers. His energy and charm added so much to the night.
Service like this, paired with amazing food and a welcoming atmosphere, is rare.

Read moreTLDR; Nice atmosphere, average to below average food.
What Rosso Crudo does well is setting an atmosphere and providing attentive service in a multitude of languages. The restaurant is situated down the street from the Duomo, providing a cinema-perfect atmosphere. I also commend the manager for taking accountability for the quality of the florentine steak which was served to us and giving us a discount because of the poor quality.
Our experience may be the exception, but we found it to be quite the tourist trap. You're paying for the setting and the attentive and warm atmosphere. Its reflected most obviously in the Florentine steak price per 100g, which was served almost half as just fat (see attached pictures). It is a dry aged steak without the best part, the filet, when you order less than 1.3-1.5kg. We also had the truffle pasta, which lacked depth of flavor and was accompanied by a very watery sauce.
I would instead recommend trying the tartare or filet from this restaurant (the people next to us loved theirs!). Again, excellent service and warmth from all of the staff, but missed the mark on the food for us. I hope we are an exception and wish the team at Rosso Crudo...
