One of the most magnificent dinners I’ve had in my life, and I do not say this lightly. Florence is a city that has my heart, as such, I’ve visited it 4 times in the last 8 years. However, it was this time where I encountered a truly outstanding dinning experience. We were walking after having been at the Duomo & just a few steps on the way we saw this place to grab a bite, where the beautiful green & the name “Ricordi” caught our eye. We went in, the waiters guided us to our table, and they suggested a Sortiment of Antipasti and of course the Bisteca Fiorentina, the staple of Tuscan cuisine. The antipasti were just incredible, whether it be the beef tartar with truffle & ricotta, the seafood tartar or the variety of delicious cheeses with honey and jam. The main event, Bistecca, was something I would recommend anyone visiting Firenze and who wants to try how this authentic dish truly tastes in its highest level. Combined with black salt, the first bite of meat was succulent, juicy and simply unforgettable, perhaps the best meat plate I’ve had in Italy. The vibe in the place was also very warm, everyone around was cheerful, having fun, and the fact it’s so close to the center in a classic fiorentine alley makes the place that more special. Wine was recommended to us and it went so well with the food, and we had dessert and a great espresso right in the pastry section of the restaurant, imagine that. Overall, when we stumbled upon the place, we did not know who Ricordi was, but we certainly know now, considering all of the Ricordi we made there. We went 3 other times (for the rest of the 4 days) just because how friendly everyone was and how good everything tasted and the large variety of dishes, the waiters recognized us and were so friendly and just offered us a wonderful service overall, 10/10 would recommend to anyone,...

We booked through The Fork and that got us a small food discount. Make sure to use this if going.
We came in to find only internal seating left at 10pm on a midweek night. This was no problem but the restaurant was a little too warm unfortunately with inadequate aircon for the space. There was also absolutely no music and all tables spoke at a beer whisper.
We ordered a salad to start to Share and two primi plates of pasta. The salad came promptly but we waited an hour after this was cleared for our mains. We had seen food come and go over several courses for people who had come after us.
We were never checked on over this time at all. I eventually caught someone's eye and asked how long they thought our mains might be. The waiter disappeared to the kitchen and then came back to say it was almost ready. About 15/20 mins later our food came out. I suspect my Carbonara was microwaved given how dey it was but my partners zucchini flower ravioli was really tasty.
Overall, the food was tasty enough but simply not worth the wait and I wax really disappointed that they didn't apologise despite clearly having forgotten to make our food until we...
Read moreWe ended up paying over 22€ for two Cappuchinos, one small Sandwich and a small cake. I’m fine with paying 7€ for the Sandwich and 6,50€ for the small cake. It’s insane that we were charged 4,50 for a very small cappuchino each. There was a sign saying 1,60 for a cappuccino and after receiving our check we obviously asked about it. And then they kind of revealed that it’s 1,60€ if you sit inside and at the counter. If you want to sit outside you‘ll have to pay 4,50€ per cappuccino. This stands inside the menu card we didn’t see, because we ordered at the counter and even took our stuff by ourselves to the table. We obviously wouldn‘t have bought there anything at all if we knew! This experience was similar to being scammed and I wouldn’t recommend going there as a tourist!
Edit: Answer to the owner: We ordered at the counter and nobody said anything about this. Only after we asked about...
