Da Gisella — Restaurant in Forio

We were so glad to find this restaurant open in the off-season! The view on a sunny day was very beautiful, you can see Sant' Angelo down below, and beyond there you can see the ferry leaving from the Ischia Porto. The staff was friendly and they were the only restaurant we have come to during our stay to bring out extra cheese (maybe they are used to Americans asking for this). The portions were so large we almost could not finish it. I also think this may have been the first place we went to that had fresh pasta, the raviolini with salmon and asparagus seemed like the pasta had not been dried (this is a good thing!). Some reviews complained saying the building was old fashion looking. But no one talked about the great outdoor seating with an amazing view in a Shady garden of flowers, trees and succulents.

We saved it on our Google map to visit prior to arriving to ischia. But then in fior Even a local recommended the restaurant so we knew we had to go!

I thought that I had Harry Potter's invisibility cloak on since the service managed to ignore us for 30 minutes despite us waving hands at them every time they were looking at our direction. After we finally managed to order I learned that my spaghetti will take a little bit longer to cook, which is fine. Well, it turned out that "little bit longer" was more than an hour, not what I expected. I don't know if we were just incredibly unlucky or if this happens to everybody here, but the incompetence of the staff absolutely ruined my experience of the place.
