This is the most elegant, welcoming, MAGICAL ocean-front restaurant in Ischia. I cannot more highly recommend Gabbiano Beach. We made arrangements in advance to celebrate our anniversary here. The owner Francesco Gabbiano went above and beyond to help make the evening the most unforgettable experience. It was the ultimate fairy tale! Then he went one further and introduced us to his extended family. His mother and father both work at the restaurant. The passion the Gabbianos have for every dish, every guest, every detail of the restaurant is what makes this a standout. I've traveled extensively and this is now one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The ocean beach setting could not be more beautiful. Stay for sunset and it magically transforms into an even more breathtaking scene. The food was fantastic. I had a green salad and tuna carpaccio. It was the best fresh tuna I have ever eaten. My husband had the octopus salad and linguini della casa. To top it off, we were treated to the chef's kiss signature Gabbiano Beach dessert the Dolce Gabbiano, which we are now renaming as our anniversary dish. It was HEAVENLY. We happily spent 3+ hours there, and we are not people who typically stay that long in a restaurant. But Gabbiano Beach didn't feel like a restaurant. It felt like a gathering of new family and friends. We consider them famiglia now and shall be returning one fine day in the future. Ti amiamo, Gabbianos!...

Qualita’ della materia prima bassa ma soprattutto grande incapacità esecutiva, orientamento a spennare il turista che tanto poi non viene piu’, visto che c’e’ lo spenno con una sfacciataggine indecente. Mi spiego. Ci hanno portato delle cozze con polipo e gamberi (forse sauté all’ischitana era il nome) erano vecchie lasciate li metà. Poi dopo consigli del cameriere (assillante oltremodo) abbiamo preso le linguine alla cicala di mare (costi cicala 250 al kg scritto nel menù). Una cosa indecente due linguine cotte al risparmio saltate al risparmio con 4 pomodori ciliegini di numero al risparmio ed un po di olio ( non ho avvertito sentore di aglio), la cicala invece era dura da dire congelata ( anche se ne hanno fatto vedere una diciamo semiviva, forse quella da esposizione), forte odore di fango e marcio soprattutto nel corpo centrale, la abbiamo lasciata li. Inoltre la cicala bollita era stata aggiunta li sopra la pasta come se la cucina fosse solo assemblaggio delle componenti e non integrazione sinergica dei sapori. Il cameriere dopo che lo ho avvisato ha insistito per farmi mettere il tutto in un dog bag per portarmela via (chiaro intento di evitare che contestassi il pagamento). Decido di soprassedere (l’errore lo avevo fatto io l’assillo del cameriere era il segnale che ero il pirla cui affibbiare la fregatura). Vado alla cassa e chiedo di pagare con POS, (la modica cifra di 387 euro senza vino non presi) e mi chiede se il servizio lo volevo pagare a parte con liquido ( il conto comprendeva il coperto). Mi sono espresso in modo determinato dicendo che a tutto c’e’ il limite della decenza e che si accontentasse dell’immeritato pagamento per non avviare altre spiacevoli procedure ( tipo l’esistenza della cicala da esposizione ). Non ha fiatato ed ha accettato con velocità la carta di credito, lascio al lettore l’interpretazione dell’immediata acquiescenza del cassiere. Vi dico che i gatti randagi sopra Sant’Angelo poco piu’ avanti non hanno gradito il contenuto non se per il sapore o per i fatto che era un dog bag. Questo sistema di fregare il turista è un fenomeno molto negativo che danneggia l’immagine non solo del locale, ma di tutto il sud e di ischia. Fa del male agli ischitani. Ed anche ai campani. Persone che per il proprio minimo tornaconto rovinano l’immagine di tutti. Garantisco e lo vedrete, che un periodo in cui il turismo e’ sempre più selettivo e preparato, rovinano il business di tutti. Con l’atteggiamento predatorio, Il turismo di qualità quello con i soldi sparirà Ischia si riempirà di negozi cinesi con abiti a 9 euro ( li ho già visti) e i turisti ricchi spariranno e non ci sarà più nessuno da fregare, perchè il povero anche se lo freghi non paga. Cari simpatici amici Ischitani decidete voi se non dare fregature per vostra decisione o perchè non avrete più nessuno da fregare. Questo lo dico perchè quel ristorante ci era stato...

The food is good, especially the white fish. The atmosphere is great. However you can sincerely taste the downfall of ischia here. The locals are so fed up with new entrants that they have no respect for foreigners. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 6 years and when I humbly and kindly asked about a misappropriated bottle of wine on our menu, I was locked in the back office, physically threatened (literally strong armed against wall with door locked) and forced to listen to the owner telling me how he had 200 properties, was a multi millionaire and his son was a boxer. Then would not let me leave (even after I originally paid the entire check in full). In the end, I gave them every dollar they asked for and another few hundred for the staff, whom in my opinion the owners humiliated. I felt badly for them. Such a shame to see the good...
