Ristorante Pizzeria da Paolo — Restaurant in Forio

The first meeting with the lady in charge set the scene in a restaurant that was 99% empty. Can we have a table for four please ? Ans ‘ English or German ‘ reply ” English “ she just pointed to a table, dropped 4 menus and walked off. A minute later she came back and dropped a bread basket on the table,when I say she “dropped “ these things she was only a short action away from throwing them not placing them down We are a happy foursome and joked about ‘ faulty towers ‘ We ordered food with a 15% discount voucher from our local hotel , four main courses and some local wine was ordered. The wine was actually okay despite coming from a metal beer keg. Food was acceptable but when it arrived the chips that the lady asked if my wife wanted did not arrive at the same time. We asked twice about the ‘frites’ but they never arrived during our meal. Several times we could hear a lady shouting at someone in the kitchen, we assume the same lady server. when we had finished our meal the lady said ‘ the frites will be five more minutes ‘ we cancelled them, we had finished eating our main courses We asked for the bill and only received a 10% discount We left to have our desert elsewhere It’s not that the food was terrible it was average at best and it didn’t all arrive. Who is responsible for the discount being wrong , don’t know The rudeness, the shouting several time in the kitchen that we could hear Farty towels One of our group wanted to stay and argue but we are British, we paid our €60 bill and finished the evening somewhere...

Nice restaurant. Good and friendly service... but.. and I don't like saying this, but possibly the worst food we have had in our 3 visits to Ischia over 10 years!! I'm actually really surprised that Italian chefs would send out the food we got. The pizza was good but we had to send back one dish because it was inedible (and it takes a lot for us to send back food, we generally just chalk it down to bad luck and let it go!). The two pasta dishes that we did eat were bad... really bad. We ate half and just called it a night. Maybe it was a stand-in chef on the night but the food was really, really bad, sorry to have to say!! On the positive, the wine was good, the pizza was good, the service was good and very reasonable prices for that area. Maybe we just hit...

Unfortunately not a good experience. The service was lacking, waited 15 mins for the waitress to come to our table and there were only 3 others tables seated in the whole place. She really seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The pizza was undercooked and so soggy, took a bite and left the rest. No flavor. They did cut it in half without asking. Had to to find the waitress to pay so we could leave. The mixed green salad was a plate of only cut up iceberg lettuce drowned in olive oil served with a half cut lemon. The eggplant Parmesan appetizer was good and we did enjoy that. Waited another 25 mins for the undercooked pizza Maybe it was just an off night as it...
