Pizzeria Mangiafuoco Forio — Restaurant in Forio

Absolutely amazing place!!

We arrived at around 9pm and the restaurant was still pretty empty on the inside, so we were immediately seated. But i do recommend a reservation if you're planning to go a little later, because by the time we left (maybe 9:30- 10 pm), the place was full and even had people waiting outside to be seated.

The atmosphere was great, nice smells, and over all the whole place felt clean and chill at the same time. It may look small, but it's actually pretty big with many tables inside and out.

They mainly only serve pizza, but there are a couple different options if i remember correctly. We ordered a margherita and an indiavolata. The dough was thin and super delicious, served under 10 minutes after we ordered it. The wine we ordered was really tasty and when we mentioned how good it was, they immediately offered to sell us a bottle in the restaurant so we don't have to search for it in grocery stores.

The pizza chef's children were helping out the staff, giving a very warm and wholesome feeling to the restaurant. The staff were super nice and helpful and worked really fast.

Una pizzeria si giudica dalla pizza, vero. Pizze dal buon sapore, impasto ben lavorato, saporito, e farcite con ingredienti locali, probabilmente un po' troppo accentrati soprattutto nelle rosse dove la fase di allargamento in pala lascia scivolare salsa verso il centro lasciando la zona vicino al cornicione un po' povera, con poca farcitura e fiordilatte. (Essendo un locale con fattezze da pizzeria di alto livello penso sia giusto notare i dettagli, altrimenti il banco a vista a che servirebbe?), cottura ottima sotto, buona sul cornicione che in alcune zone seccava. Decisamente sopra la media delle pizze che si mangiano in giro sull'isola comunque. Ma il bello finisce qui. Siamo stati fatti accomodare nella sala fronte strada, un disastro. Acustica imbarazzante, troppi coperti per un'area così piccola, anche quando solo si parlava non si comprendeva il commensale vicino, complice poi, non certo colpa del ristorante una famiglia poco educata che ha lasciato urlare la bambina e farla scorazzare anche su scale senza ringhiera. Fastidioso e pericoloso. Probabilmente avrei offerto qualcosina da mangiare subito alla bimba cosa da farla distogliere dallo scambiare il posto per una sala giochi. Servizio nella media, mi sono seduto e sul mio coperto c'era un cracker mangiucchiato. Il cameriere ha sostituito il menù ma non si fa sedere nessuno su un tavolo sporco. L'attesa per le pizze è stata nella media, circa 10 minuti, ma l'usanza di portare le birre subito per farle trovare calde al momento dell'arrivo delle pizze rimane una fastidiosa costante. Alla richiesta del conto siamo invitati ad andare in cassa mentre è sempre buona usanza portare il conto al tavolo così da poterlo controllare. Siamo usciti col mal di testa per il rimbombo e tutti vicino mostravano segni di sofferenza acustica. Conto sopra le 20€ a testa per pizza e birra (spina stella Artois a 15€ al litro). Locale carino nei pavimenti ma abbastanza povero negli arredi alle pareti. Una nota, il condizionatore di destra perde acqua sul muro bianco lasciando in un locale nuovo già strisce marroncine. we ordered a cheese plate described as multiple cheeses and jams - what came out was dried meats and jarred veg. When we explained we wanted cheese- the waiter said "there wasn't cheese" with no apology. As a vegetarian I should have sent it back but I caved.
