Contatto Ristorante — Restaurant in Frascati

As it was our first visit to Contatto, we decided to go a la carte, inspite of the advisory that it would take longer than usual, due to the tasting being offerred that night. As it turned out, the entire evening flowed from one sensational dish to the next, without undue delay allowing just the right interval between courses to share the experience amongst our group and build anticipation for the next delight. My first ever experience with the Michelin rated dishes at Contatto was decadent! I was guided through their 'laboratory' in the caves underground where most of the ingredients are cultivated. It was quite insightful to not just know what you are eating but what kind of hardwork is put in the food to taste so exquisite. Since I am a vegetarian, the chef was kind enough to make some changes to certain dishes which reflects the hospitality the people here offer. Alti e bassi. Le aspettative erano alte. Aspettative create dai proprietari stessi date le premesse e le spiegazioni. Purtroppo credo che questo sia un piccolo errore. I prodotti che vengono mostrati nella passeggiata in grotta prima della degustazione sono presenti solo in minima, ma molto minima parte nel menu. E' evidente che tutto l'aspetto delle fermentazioni e conservazioni che viene raccontato, sia piu che altro scenico perche non lo ho ritrovato nei piatti ad eccezione del limone. Quando fai pagare un menu degustazione una cifra importante, e' chiaro che poi si crea un'aspettativa. Molti errori nei piatti. _Assaggini iniziali molto semplici _Fungo cardoncello buono ma nessuna sorpresa nei sapori. E' un fungo buono con una salsina che sa di funghi _il Riso cotto fuori e crudo dentro purtroppo sembra quasi una scusa per non usare un riso di qualità (e troppe erbette sopra che lo rendono molto amaro) _Lo gnocchetto alle erbe e formaggio era buono ma come lo e' un buon piatto di pasta normale _La carne con le carote e il ketchup purtroppo abbassava il livello di tanto _Il dolce era buono ma non in linea con il costo e con il modo in cui il ristorante si presenta

L'ultima cosa vale un po per tutti i piatti. Il ristorante si presenta in un certo modo, ma poi ti restituisce meno delle parole e delle premesse fatte.
