Went to Il Faro 3 times for the sunset views and for cocktails. The first couple of visits we received the usual Italian level of service - not great, however, pretty standard for Italy, and marginally better than the ‘cocktail bar’ next door, and we enjoyed the drinks.
On our third visit today the service went beyond our worst expectations in that after ordering a second round of drinks, we waited over 30 minutes and the drinks never arrived, despite being relatively quiet and plenty of staff stood around, and other tables ordering and receiving drinks. We decided to wait no longer and leave, at which point they tried to charge us for the drinks we never received! No apology or attempt to get us to stay, just accused us of having them. Read moreWhile the place is amazing for sunset seekers unfortunately, the “Il Faro Restaurant..” failed to deliver on food quality and service, period. both starters and mains were bland and very ordinary, and despite the “friendly” approach by our waiter the service was so slow that we even at some point we had to chase for the menu!.
I’d definitely recommend this place for its location only but if you are looking for good quality food - here in Apulia region is the norm - I suggest to look...
Read moreThe food was bad canteen level, at best. Ordered a pasta with tomatoes and ricotta cheese, received pasta sauce with tinned tomatoes, made at a level of a bad canteen. Another dish was pasta with turnip tops, received pasta with broccoli as I was trying to be convinced that it was, in fact, turnip tops (they also tried to convince me they didn’t have broccoli in their kitchen).
