Tramontana — Restaurant in Gallipoli

I visited this place on a drive through. Just to grab some lunch, which I hoped would be quite fast, since I ordered a scampi tartare and pasta with mussels. The waitress were very polite but their English was very very poor. Things like asking for a spoon or the bill they didn’t understand at all. Plus came the pasta and the tartare were served super slow, they said it’s fresh cooked which I can completely understand but even fresh cooked for a dish like that doesn’t need so much time. The tartare was very nice but the pasta was quite salty. If you are under time pressure like I was, I wouldn’t recommend this place, but if you are not, go ahead and give it a try. Wir können das Restaurant Tramontana absolut nicht empfehlen.

Nach einer langen Autofahrt nach Gallipoli waren wir auf der Suche nach einem guten Essen, in der Hoffnung, dass in Italien das Essen immer sehr gut schmeckt. Leider war unser Erlebnis dort extrem enttäuschend.

Ich bestellte das Risotto (20 €), das wässrig, kaum gewürzt und sehr bissfest war. Als Zweitgang hatte ich gegrilltes Gemüse, das auf einem kleinen Teller serviert wurde. Es bestand aus sechs dünnen Zucchinischeiben und Aubergine. Die Aubergine war an den Rändern teilweise sehr weich, was mir persönlich gar nicht geschmeckt hat, und auch hier fehlten jegliche Gewürze.

Wir hatten außerdem einen Hauswein bestellt, der uns ebenfalls nicht geschmeckt hat. Mein Partner hatte sehr al dente Nudeln mit wenigen tiefgefrorenen Pilzen, bei denen der Gorgonzola-Käse gefehlt hat. Dazu hatte er frittierten Fisch bestellt, der hart, gummiartig, ungewürzt war – vermutlich auch der Fisch tiefgefroren, wenn nicht sogar ein zweites Mal frittiert.

Am Ende betrug die Rechnung 80 €, was dieses Erlebnis wirklich unzufriedenstellend macht.

Wir haben den Eindruck, dass ein großer Teil der Bewertungen auf Google gekauft ist und nicht die Wahrheit über das Restaurant widerspiegelt. Insgesamt war unser Besuch dort eine absolute Enttäuschung, und wir können dieses Restaurant definitiv nicht empfehlen.

Dissapointing. I simply don't understand why the restaurant is so well reviewed. For instance the swordfish (spada) was so sawdust-like, I could expect it only at a shopping mall cantine, not in a well reviewed authentic restaurant. Octopuss and spumone also subpar.
