Gelateria Viganotti — Restaurant in Genoa

Please pay attention to opening hours. Google Maps doesn’t suggest the right opening hours for this gelateria. We came at about 8.30pm and it was almost closed. The woman working in the store told us that they were closed already, but we could order ice cream anyway. The ice cream was good. But the choice is very limited from the one that we found on the photos made 5 months ago. We took 3 flavors: Figs with zibibbo (this was we didn’t like, not a very intense flavor and I didn’t find any fig in my ice cream) Gorgonzola and walnuts Dark chocolate with rum. These 2 flavors were good. There was a taste both of Gorgonzola and rum. But I only found 1 small piece of walnut in my ice cream. So even though the ice cream was good, but seems that the owner tries to make economies anyway. That’s why I’m putting 3, even though in theory it could be 5, in case there are more ingredients declared to be part of the ice cream...

(I'm Italian from Genoa!!! but I need to type this in English because I need the whole world to know how insane and good this gelato is first of all, the girl working there was an angel, she answered all my annoying questions and made me try as many flavours as I liked!! She was also very patient with my Scottish friend who clearly had no idea what was going on!! Love her (give her a raise)! I ended up choosing Gorgonzola and walnut + orange chocolate, and it was the most divine thing I have ever tasted - I swear I let out a scream when I first tasted the Gorgonzola. My friend got gin and grapefruit + almond and amaretto + orange chocolate. In his words, with tears in his eyes, he said "compared to any other food I have tried here in Genova, this ice cream is by far the best. I'm not sure if l'll ever eat ice...
