Ittiturismo Boccadasse — Restaurant in Genoa

B and B host recommended this place for. Birthday celebration. I realize I am a guest in the country and utilize google translate a great number of times. Menus would not translate as it is written in chalk, one waiter for whole place , no English. Appetizer of muscles was large but cold, we were one of 6 in the restaurant at the time so busy cooks don't cut it. First and second courses were also warm ish. Main dishes five scampi, and that's it, enough meat in the tails for a five year old. Fish fillet was two inches in length and some deep fried potatoes. Many locals showed up and their food looked amazing . This place took advantage of us being tourists and after €105 , if back at home would have spoken to the manager and complained . We have been in Italy for 10 days and by far this was our first and only disappointment. Lots of dinning places around, avoid this...

Food was decent. I ordered a second course but forgot to ask if any side veggies were included. So after some minutes I called a waitress and told her that I had forgot to order them. So we ordered baked potatoes for two. After a while she comes with one single portion of potatoes, around 10 minutes before bringing the rest of the food. She told she would bring only one because they were so abundant... but to me it did not seem so! When the main course came, we realised potatoes were already included :) (but that was not mentioned in the menu) so, the girl managed to sell us an extra portion that became cold by the time the rest came, (also, showing herself a bit nervous) . I had a distraction as a customer and she took advantage of me to sell an extra course. For some extra euros. Which I found quite a silly thing. Won't get back there, food was decent but...

The experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, the starter of fried balls was underwhelming in taste and texture. They lacked flavor and were not enjoyable. The main course, a pasta dish with tomato sauce, was particularly disappointing. The sauce tasted like a low-quality, canned version, lacking the fresh, rich flavors one would expect from a proper Italian restaurant. On a positive note, the fried dish we ordered was decent and better than the other dishes. However, this alone did not justify the overall cost. We paid €68 for two people, which felt overpriced given the subpar quality of most of the food.

I think the restaurant is overrated and does not provide good value for money. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend...
