Le Fornarine Bakery Caffè — Restaurant in Genoa

This place was busy at 8am (always a good sign) and did not disappoint. They had vegan croissants!!! Super surprising but I was delighted nonetheless. They were delicious! We also ordered a focaccia which my partner said was also fabulous. The ladies were very fast and friendly. The lady who served us also spoke a little English. Between my broken Italian and her English we were able to get exactly what we wanted :) I would eat here again and would recommend to others as well! They also had a clean toilet. The only not so great thing was that there was a construction site at the building while we were here and we were serenaded by jackhammers as we ate breakfast 🫠 but that’s not the fault...

Out of all the place I ate in Italy today this is the most memorable. The food is quite phenomenal, the coffee is great and the staff are super friendly. 4 out of 5 days we ate breakfast here. Enjoying the croissants, the freshly baked quiches (which change everyday) and the tartlets. The place is something to experience and enjoy. The family feel the owner brings (the logo of the cafe is dedicated to her 3 daughters) adds to the incredible atmosphere and passion for food shines through in the quality of the food. Buonasera, sono stata questa sera con la mia famiglia perché ci ha incuriosito il posto da fuori molto invitante..entriamo e ci accomodiamo e nell’attesa che mio marito prenotasse alcune pizze, lo spritz con Campari e un’acqua, ho dovuto liberare e sparecchiare il tavolo senza che nessuna delle due ragazze dietro il bancone provvedesse a farlo. Mio marito rientra al tavolo con le pizze e dopo un’ulteriore attesa arriva finalmente lo spritz, sbagliato in quanto è arrivato con aperol e non con Campari come Invece era stato ordinato. Per la bottiglia dell’acqua invece si è dovuto rialzare mio marito perché non è proprio arrivata. Notiamo che a tutti i tavoli portavano un tagliere con vari stuzzichini di pizzette. A quel punto faccio presente a una ragazza che noi avevamo ordinato uno spritz per cui era corretto servire anche a noi il tagliere delle pizzette, anzi sarebbe stato più corretto comunicarlo al bancone perché avremo evitato di ordinare le pizzette che tanto sarebbero arrivate comunque. La risposta è stata che il prezzo del bere era inferiore, FALSO! perché poi arrivata al bancone per avere del pane l’altra ragazza mi ha comunicato che noi DOVEVAMO dire che volevamo fare un’aperitivo (prima volta in questo locale senza sapere come funzionasse) solo così ci avrebbe portato il tagliare.
