Rooster Streetfood Rotisserie - Matteotti — Restaurant in Genoa

I was in the city during the Slow Fish festival 2019, and was a bit bored of Pizza and needed something Italian, but not exactly traditional. So I found this shop while I was exploring the great city. The guys inside were friendly and spoke English and recommended to me a variety of things on the menu. Even offered me a bomber chicken from the menu for the price of a regular chicken!

The prices are ludicrously low and cheap, compared to in London and the food is locally sourced. The city has a love affair with the sea, recycling and generally being passionate about Liguria, while also being open and friendly to tourists so the restaurant is decked out in local programmes about their part in keeping the city sustainable and clean.

The food is something between your typical Italian place and an American fast food place.

The panini with chicken was great, chicken was tasty and properly prepared, the bread was fresh and they put in just the right amount of sauces. Portions were good, but not huge, just right.

I didn't try any of the other stuff, but they have rotisserie chicken which also looks like a solid choice

The prices for panini hover around 5 Euros which is great.

Staff was really nice and they speak English.

Well chicken was good but for 12 euro it should've been great..wasn't impressed at all. Okay its now 2 weeks later and i went around to several spots in the area.Then i came back here and ordered half garlic chicken. Damn the white meat was juicy all the way to the bone and it was seasoned just right. Well worth the money and I will be there at least...
