Bistrot Mercedes — Restaurant in La Spezia

This was the best food I had in Italy, and the service was incredibly friendly! I ordered the seafood (squid ink) risotto and a local specialty homemade basil pesto pasta. For drinks, I tried both red and white wine. From the first bite, it became the most delicious food I’d tasted in Italy. It was so good that I actually considered skipping my train to order more! And when I mentioned I had only 15 minutes left before my train, the staff kindly paused other orders to process my payment right away. I don’t know if I’ll come back to Italy, but if I do, I’ll definitely visit here again. It was absolutely delicious. The restaurant mood is great too

Our experience at Bistrot Mercedes was truly amazing. We got off the train and went down the stairs in front of the station and saw this restaurant so we decided to try it. It was my husband's birthday so we asked for a special drink we love- a white russian. It was truly amazing - the best we've ever had. Without asking, they presented us with so many delicious dishes- mussels, charcuterie,etc. we were so touched by their generosity and the food was wonderful. This restaurant is waaay overrated, the food was terrible we ordered cannelloni and spaghetti with seafood and it was the worst food experience I’ve ever had here in Italy ! The spaghetti was salty , dry and we chew pieces or shells in every bite we just couldn’t , the cannelloni was hot from the outside and cold from the inside when I told the waiter he said ok then the lady taking the payment said no it’s not possible instead of changing our plates with something that is eatable !
