So sad, having read all the amazing reviews below we decided this was the spot to eat at for our final night in Lecce. I’m not sure if it was an off night but we left very sad and disappointed. The starter was super tasty- we had the ceviche tacos & tuna tartare- truly delicious. Sadly the primi was where it went wrong, we ordered a special spaghetti dish which can only be described as a ‘at home stir-fry’, super bland and felt a little bit random, we ordered a tuna pasta dish which felt like a bad combo of raw tuna (tasty) then a almost sweet pasta infused with orange zest and burrata on top, gnocchi with mussels cacio pepe was tasty. It was a shame as no one checked in to ask how the food was even when we left with barely eating the pasta. Beautiful restaurant with a romantic ambience. The food is of outstanding quality where the local dishes are used as a basis and are slightly adjusted in a qualitative manner. My girlfriend as a vegetarian was happy about the amount of vegetarian/vegan dishes, that were of great quality as well. The waiters and waitresses were very kind to us and despite our difference in language, there was no problem in getting our questions about the menu answered. Ambiente storico, incantevole, con volte a stella e cementine, con un bellissimo e profumato giardino che, grazie anche ad un delicato sottofondo musicale, a basso volume, è capace di creare un ambiente amichevole, rilassato e confortevole in cui conversare cortesemente, realizzando le condizioni che ci si aspettano in un ristorante familiare di qualità, magari facendoti rimanere al tavolo a lungo, anche dopo aver pagato l’onestissimo conto. Cucina veramente casalinga: non si avverte la presenza di “insaporitori”, bruni o bianchi che siano, che, in altri locali, riescono a sovraccaricare anche piatti semplicissimi, e che ti fanno alzare pentendoti di non aver mangiato a casa un panino con la mortadella. Gli antipasti, di tutti i tipi, sono un qualcosa che veramente apre il pranzo senza frantumare l’appetito. Pasta fresca effettivamente “fatta a casa”, callosa, con orecchiette diverse una dall’altra, servita finalmente al punto giusto di cottura, con condimenti delicati, ma molto saporiti. Tutti i piatti (generosi) meritano di essere assaporati scegliendo a seconda dei gusti personali. Personalmente ho assaggiato un polpo fritto con una consistenza delicatissima, unica, mai sentita prima, ottenuta in maniera che, giustamente, è rimasta segreta. Servizio gentile, discreto, educato e preciso con chiara spiegazione dei piatti e che ti fa venire voglia di stare seduto e di lasciarsi coccolare.
