A place full of history, starting with how the museum came to back in BC times.
Andrea, the oldest son of the owner - Luciano Faggiano - was there and kindly told us more about what we were seeing, how did the process of discovering all these relics go and what is still there to uncover.
The museo was put together by the family with their own money and they’ve done an amazing job, which puts even more value into it. And to think that they had the chance to cover all that history and still have their Trattoria! We thanked Andrea for deciding not to do that, allowing us to witness and history right before our eyes.

Read moreWow… we read the story of the museum on the plaque outside which describes how the museum was the work of one man and his sons. When we stepped inside we did not expect to be given a tour by Marco, one of the sons we were just reading about – very surreal! This museum is full of real archeological features from a wide variety of time periods, and there was a helpful information sheet in English to explain everything. It starts in the basement levels and then proceeds upstairs into the house where some of the artefacts found are kept. There is also a open-air medieval watch tower to climb. Read moreThe exposition of historical items and archeological evidences is for sure very important for the science, but i was rather fascinated by the unique location in the middle of the city, architecture and overall aesthetic of the place. Definitely worth the visit if u want to take a look through different epochs and explore the items with no pressure from stuff. The manager at the ticket office turned out to be a son of the owner, who was passionate about the place and explained the whole discovery process in perfect English.
