I have no words to describe how good this place was. By the time you sit down and receive a menu completely in Pugliese dialect you know it won’t disappoint. This place offers authentic top-notch Italian cuisine at a really good price.
We had 3 dishes, all of them really local and probably only found in Puglia: friselle, ciceri e tria, and parmigiana china alla leccese (this one we didn’t even know it existed, but it was incredible). They were all out of this world. You can literally taste how homemade the food is. In particular, this ciceri e tria has been my favorite dish while visiting Puglia. The quality of all the ingredients is outstanding, and the portions are REALLY generous.
We spent 7 EUR for the friselle, 12 EUR for the ciceri e tria, and 14 EUR for the parmigiana. Watch out that you’ll be charged 2.50 EUR per person as a service fee (the famous “coperto”), which may unexpectedly increase...
Read moreFood very average and too expensive with subpar ingredients. Riccota forte they served us with pasta fatta in casa was inedible and tasted stale, probably gone bad. I like strong tasting cheese but that was too much even for me. The pasta was undercookeded too. Ate also ciceri e tria, parmigiana and fiori di zucca fritti. They were very bland overall, but okay. It's not neccessarily a tourist trap, but it felt like one. The prices could be halved. The waitress was nice but the owner looked annoyed after asking how to use the sink that requires you to step on a darned pedal three people couldn't notice was hidden underneath. Left feeling annoyed and...
Read moreMy wife and I enjoyed a nice meal here. The service was good, with our waiter going out of his way to find ways to communicate with us in English - much appreciated! Be warned that it seemed like some of the menu items that sounded vegetarian did have meat or fish in. I'm willing to accept that we did not say that my wife didn't eat meat, and also that perhaps there is a local tradition of these ingredients for these dishes, but we were surprised that the zucchini flowers seemed to also contain anchovies, and the Aubergine Parmigiana contained ham and minced meat. Other than these surprises we...
