Staying in Lecce for four nights, we passed this restaurant several times on our strolls back to our apartment. The atmosphere is so lovely, that one friend said “we must eat here one night before we leave.” So that we did, on our last night. The atmosphere was matched by the wonderful service of our delightful waiter, as well as by the sophisticated menu and delicious food. We ordered the unusually named “raw shrimp cheesecake”, which had raw shrimp and cheese but fortunately did not resemble a cheesecake as it is known in the US in any other way. Instead it was a refreshing appetizer with chopped peaches, chopped raw shrimp and cheese. We also ordered a beef and buffala mozzarella appetizer, which was abundant and delicious: raw beef a la beef tartare. A guinea fowl special with potatoes and vegetables did not disappoint. My pasta with beef ragu was on the salty side, but my taste buds dulled by a recent cold, it did not overwhelm. Highly recommend having a leisurely meal at Vico deli Sotterranei. With a shared bottle of Prosecco for three, we spent €35 per person. Very good value for money, especially considering other restaurants in the historic center can be pricey with lesser attention to creative menus. Sit outside, watch people stroll by and delight...

My recent visit to this restaurant was far from satisfactory. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the establishment did not live up to its advertised promises.

Firstly, the waiters, though polite, were not locals (chinese/african). While this isn't necessarily a problem, their lack of familiarity with the cuisine and the area was evident. They struggled to answer basic questions about the menu and offered little insight or recommendations.

The menu was extremely limited, offering very few options. This lack of variety was disappointing and made it difficult to find something appealing. Even the most basic offerings were subpar.

The salad, for instance, was particularly poor. It lacked creativity. Moreover, the absence of tomatoes, a basic salad ingredient, was puzzling and further detracted from the overall quality.

In summary, it failed to impress on multiple fronts. The lack of local staff, the inauthentic cuisine, the limited menu, and the substandard salad all contributed to a disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an authentic and...

What an absolute joke of a restaurant. The portions are so tiny it feels like they are deliberately mocking their customers. You pay full price and get served a ridiculous amount of food that wouldn’t satisfy a child, let alone an adult who actually came to have a proper meal. Are they joking? It is insulting to even call this a serving. I left hungrier than when I arrived, which is unbelievable for a place that pretends to be a restaurant. The audacity to charge those prices for scraps is outrageous. Furthermore, I’ve been living in Lecce for more than two years and I have never once seen local people eating there. That says it all. It is the worst example of a tourist trap, with nothing but fancy decorated plates trying to disguise the fact that they serve you next to nothing. No way will I ever go back, and I strongly advise anyone with a normal appetite to avoid this scam of a place.

Fantastic meal! We found this place by absolutely chance in the daytime as we were looking for a place to drink but it was nearly 3pm and eateries tend to close. It was busy, looked great and having been in Italy for 2 weeks knew it might be worth booking for dinner so we cpuld vome back. Im so glad we did as it saved walking aimlessly around Lecce in search of a good meal. We saw plenty of couple turned away during our meal in the evening. Anyway, to the food. It was a cut above most places we have eaten. Authentic, regional food but presented in a modern way. The menu was varied but not over the top. We would highly recommend this place if you want an authentic but modern meal. Its a cool/cute outside dining area and the staff are attentive and friendly.

Hidden away in a quiet, narrow alley, this restaurant caught my attention, and I decided it was worth trying. We were lucky to get a table outside without a reservation. At first glance, the menu seemed a bit limited, but once you take a closer look, you'll find plenty of options. For the main course, I had the ravioli filled with burrata, and I also shared a carpaccio and fava purée with chicory. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors came together beautifully for an overall delightful experience. The wine list was unique compared to other places, and I ordered a limited-production bottle of red wine called "SULLROCCE" by Pierfrabio Mastronardi, which turned out to be amazing!
