Moro — Restaurant in Lecce

I cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience. After reading positive reviews, my boyfriend and I were excited to try it out. Even though we were told there would be an hour-long wait, which was strange because there were only two people waiting before us, we decided to stick it out and were seated within ten minutes and things went downhill from there.

It took 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and the water we received came with a basket of stale bread. Despite ordering a bottle of wine, it never arrived, and after waiting another half hour, our food finally came. However, the French fries we ordered were missing, and we were told they had run out of grilled vegetables—despite them being in the salad we had ordered. My boyfriend was left with just stale bread to accompany his meatballs which he said weren't great.

As for my meal, I ordered the chickpea pasta, which was the only vegetarian option. It was by far the blandest meal I've ever had. To top it all off, when we received the bill, it included the missing items. The staff seemed confused when we mentioned not receiving the wine, even though there were no wine glasses or empty bottle at our table.

Cozy bar to get a late aperitivo while in Lecce. We happen to pass by while caught in a sudden shower and ended up staying here even after the rain because of the warm and convivial atmosphere of the location and the friendly and helpful bar staff.
