Tried to book this place for the next evening on the web-site offered, but after 20 hours "pending acceptance" I gave up and walked in while the usually closed doors were open, made the booking in person for 19:00 next evening. On the night, the locked doors opened at 18:59, I said to my wife the lights were not on, they haven't done any preparation! Front of house had no knowledge of my booking, without the help of the guy who took my booking the day before I am not sure I would have had my table. Suggest they use their computer or keep a book. It was clear no preparation had been done as we sat for 30 mins with only a bottle of aqua, after which our order was then taken by a surly waitress. Soon my €26 bottle of sparkling white wine arrived. The wine was warm without hint of chill! Luckily they remembered the ice-bucket, so dropped a cube into both our glasses. After this everything worked like clockwork, but otherwise the service at "opening" is terrible. So terrible that we left the restaurant to pay for after-dinner drinks elsewhere! This place has good food, but let themselves down by letting customers in before...
Read moreThey had the “menu del giorno” with pasta dishes, no prices there. I’ve asked for one of those dishes and the waiter said that the “scorfano” they had left was 700gr, at which I said it would’ve been too big for just a pasta dish and I wanted something smaller. The waiter then suggested a “dentice” which was smaller and could replace the first fish, I said ok. The fish itself was ok, it was supposed to be with a ragù of vongole and vegetables, but the veggies were basically boiled and thrown there. When the bill arrived, the bill of the fish weight arrived too, and surprise surprise it was 715gr. My point is, if I told you that a fish of 700gr was too big for it and you suggested another smaller one, why didn’t you come back to me after you weighted and realized that the second one was the same size as the first one, to let me know? They just brought the fish next to the table in a dish asking if it was ok, but sadly I don’t have a weight scale in my eyes yet. Overpriced for what it is,...
Read moreWaiter told our group of 20 that we were only allowed to pick three dishes as cooking for all 20 would be a bother. A first a restaurant ever told me I had to pick the same as everyone else. You should know there were more than 4 pages of food yet picking them was not allowed. Our group would've left but we wanted to eat together and there really isn't another place that could hold 20 people. Furthermore whilst going to the toilet, my friends saw a mouse. They told the waiter and he replied they knew. Nice knowing you cannot order yourself and there is a mouse lurking in the kitchen. The only good thing is that a waitress was very nice to us yet the others gave us a cold shoulder and didn't listen. Maybe because they don't speak English. This restaurant does not deserve the amount of stars it has, that is why I rate a 1 star to make it a bit more...
