We stumbled across Bar Caffetteria La Colonna on our first day in Lucca — and it was so good, we’ve been back every single day since! It’s officially become our local go-to spot.

The atmosphere is relaxed and genuinely welcoming, with lovely staff who make you feel right at home. Big compliments to the chef too — the food is consistently fantastic. This is a truly authentic place with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon or a cosy evening meal.

The drinks menu is brilliant — the Hugo Spritz is absolutely spot on — and there’s a wide range of dishes to suit any mood. One of the real highlights for us was the burger with fig jam, rocket salad and pecorino cheese — such a unique and delicious combo.
