No seating available. Little standing room. We had coffee and cornetto to take away. And looking back, it was the best Cornetto we have had in Italy so far. The pastry and filling were just perfect and fresh. Would love to come back

Süsse, kleine Konditorei in der Altstadt von Lucca. Wir haben uns als Take Away für das Frühstück zwei unglaublich köstliche Cappuccino und jeweils ein Croissant (zu Italienisch: “Cornetto”) gefüllt mit Marillenmarmelade und Vanillecreme mitgenommen. Die ItalienerInnen gönnen sich dort gerne einen schnellen Espresso. Es ist auch möglich ein Pizzastück zu kaufen. Am Mittwoch war die Konditorei leider geschlossen. Auch wenn die Konditorei unscheinbar ist, lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall, dort vorbeizuschauen. Vielleicht gerade deshalb.

Piccola pasticceria storica di Lucca, all'interno delle Mura. Un locale che per ambiente e cura dei dettagli sembra rimasto fermo agli anni '80. La scelta della pasticceria è ridotta e la qualità delle paste, soprattutto quelle da colazione, pessima. I cornetti (pasta brioche) hanno la consistenza asciutta del pane, e per di più sono scarsamente farciti. Cornetto con gocce di cioccolato ai limiti della mangiabilità. Prezzi abbastanza contenuti, considerando che Lucca centro (tra le mura) è molto cara. Servizio rapido.

As with all Italian pasticcerie it's a joy to enter and look at all the mouth watering pastries and the aroma of fresh coffee. Be careful not to use the same words as we might do in the UK. Wonderfully friendly staff at this combination pasticceria and coffee shop (they actually have two doors, virtually side-by-side). It is a neighborhood establishment within the old city walls that draws a local clientele, and its share of tourists. English is spoken here, so no problems...
