Good samaritans - I arrived just as they were closing down and the lady explained in Italian (I can't speak much Italian) they weren't open but there was a selection of left over pizza that I could have. Signalling to her that I'd pay with card she then motioned that the machine wasn't working. I accepted the fate of my hunger, but as I turned to leave she called me and then kindly heated up some very tasty pizza for me to take, knowing I couldn't pay! All I can say is thank you very much. Mamma Ida pizza station is clean, simple Equigment and the signs outside is not so big. It’s not easy to detect. But I’ve you open the door you see this wonderful flames in the wood burning stove. Enough reason to stay u And order a pizza. The quality is not extraordinary but by good handmade with natural ingredients.Take them with you in a box and sit down 🪑 on the Lucca wall. Highly recommend this pizzeria. As the saying goes, "2 streets back from main attractions" often offers the most authentic dining experiences. Pizzas were superb, cooked in front of us, on a wood fired pizza oven, using the freshest of ingredients. Fantastic crispy base & loads of topping. Staff were very attentive and friendly, even having a laugh & a joke with us. Will definitely try to visit a 2nd time...
